Chef Masahiro Omori is the Executive Chef / Co-owner of Yuwa Japanese Cuisine who was born and raised in Chiba, Japan. His grandmother "YUWA" passionately owned a fish market in Chiba, Japan for over 50 years. Yuwa's dedication to her craft deeply touched Chef Omori and he lovingly brings her spirit forward with his professional experience at a well-known long-established Kaiseki restaurant in Tokyo, Japan.

Chef Masahiro Omori brings specialized regional dishes from across Japan taking advantage of the highest quality, freshest local BC ingredients. These can all be paired with our specialized selection of wines and sake.

Server forgot about the bottle of sake we ordered and we reminded a few people about the order. It finally came after we finished having the appies. The outdoor dining experience might have affected the food quality as some dishes were a bit cold when it got delivered to our table.

The squid from Japan was almost buttery it was so tender. Very large, plump spot prawns on my nigiri. Portions of sea urchin conversely, were very small (from Japan as local uni season is over). Service (we were seated outside) was attentive but not intrusive. Nice to see children with their parents (some running next door with the mother's credit card to purchase ice cream cones).

Yuwa was delicious!! The quality of the sushi, sashimi, and nigiri were some of the best we have had. The servers were very friendly and attentive and the place had a great atmosphere.
