   Have eaten here many times for various occasions and always been happy with it. This time it was just me and my daughter and the table we were on (as with many of the 2's) was in a poor position offering no privacy which was disappointing, we felt the table was squeezed in. The service was good and the food fair. I do not believe the current menu offers such a good range as previously.

   An excellent meal in a lovely ambience. Well worth the visit and as it is dog friendly that was a big bonus. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional.

   I requested not to be sat in a doorway at the time of booking - guess what we were seated in the doorway at a table with a dirty bowl of dogs water underneath and the food was average - and went cold because we were sat in the doorway.

   Excellent meal at a great price. Their pies are awesome.

   Sadly the first thing to say is the menu has gone right downhill; from being interested and varied it is now burger, steak, and prawn cocktails. We ate there on two consecutive nights in August booked at 8:30. The first night they had a big party in, our steak and chips took 45 mins and looked very poor. Steak tasted OK, chips poor, peas dead, mushroom deflated, sad half a small tomato for £15!. Second night service was better but the pub was suffering from the poor menu which was slightly improved by the 'Specials' board. This is sad for us as just a few years ago the food was very very good. We still like the openness and friendly atmosphere but that's about it. :-(

   I had booked a table for two at least 2weeks before hand, arrived on the evening and waited for a few minutes to be seated which I didn't have a problem with and was given our menus . Then it all went wrong as we were not asked if we would like a drink at the point of being seated and given menus so we waited at least 10 mins, when we were asked if we were ready to order I then asked for a drink which the waitress wrote down and then asked if I was ready to order food again, to which I replied please can we have a couple of mins, when our drinks were brought to us it was another 10 mins at least, we ordered the food which came extremely quick, however I had the gammon which was tough and the peas were hard so precooked meat which seemed to be reheated was goin through my mind.(reason why it came out so quick, we were not asked during meal if all was ok, because if we had I would have ordered another drink, when we had finished our meals the plates were cleared by a gentleman and I asked him for another drink, ( he never asked if I wanted one, I had to ask him). We were not asked at any point if we wanted a desert (which we would both of had) we both got up and went to the toilet, and then went and paid at the bar, again was not asked if everything was ok with our meal, I think the service was poor because the staff were extremely busy and clearly not enough of them on, so I blame the management to cutting corners and trying to save money on wages, the staff were rushing around and I have to say although they were rushed off their feet they remained polite at all times and smiled all the time So come on management if you have a certain amount of tables in the restruarant you must make sure you have the staff to give a good service at all times,

   Came in a quiet weekday evening. took over 10 minutes to get 3 cokes brought to us. Although we saw waitress that took order stood about. food came quickly n was v nice. Again though service from staff poor. When I payed staff ignored me n spoke to people who he knew stood behind us. It was a real shame as we have been on a few occasions n always liked it but I don't think I would return.

   Arrived at the restaurant to discover that although there were two of us, we'd been booked on a table of 6, right in front of an open door and next to the children's area. The staff then agreed to move us to a more suitable spot, but then upon taking our drinks order did not return with drinks - we waited for about 20 minutes, and it wasn't even busy! At this point we'd had enough and decided to try somewhere else. Very poor service, extremely disappointed after hearing great things from friends.
