   The kitchen was shot down so they only had cold food options and just one kitchen staff to prep. Which meant we waited 30+ minutes for a cheese plate + charcuterie board, then had to ask for an explanation of what we received only to be told they didn’t know what cheeses we were given.

   We hadn’t been since prepandemic and were honestly disappointed. The prices do not match the service and food. Our waiter was highly personable but food and drinks took far too long. Unfortunately probably won’t be back.

   I was disappointed with my experience. The food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and my mother’s entrée came out another 10 minutes later. The KFC was small and definitely not worth the $27 I paid. Overall, the meal didn’t meet expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

   Overall, the food quality is mediocre. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you're in East Lakeview, it's an ok option, but the quality is not really anything special. The fries are fried in animal fat which may add taste, but it only works well if you have fresh cut fries. The only vegetarian option was Mac'n Cheese. Also, one of the major meat options (Beef Brisket) was not available at the very start of the evening (6pm).

   I've been to Wood countless times. Most experiences were fine. This time service was awful -and it was especially frustrating because we were there to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. Other tables were seated, served and finished before our order even arrived. It was over an hour from the time we gave our order to the time we were served - and our orders weren't complicated. Had we not complained to the hostess, it likely would have been even longer due to an inattentive waiter. To compensate, they gave us 25% off the bill - if I'd been the manager I would have done more to apologize. Everyone makes mistakes. It is how those mistakes are managed that either builds or chips away at loyalty. We will think twice before returning to Wood.

   Great. Love it. But the menu has been failing. Pork. Pork Duck Pork Lamb Pork Beef Chicken Pork This needs to change… Or I’ll stop going. I’ve been a customer since WOOD opened. This menu is no longer acceptable It’s really unhealthy. Salty. Terribly unwelcoming for many diet limitations. It’s lame to be a Pork menu. Almost offensive from a culinary welcoming perspective.

    Perhaps this won't be important to most diners. But for a Friday in Lent, it was unfortunate that the only fist entree was a lobster casserole, one of the most expensive items on the menu.
