   One our party’s chicken was raw inside. When brought to the attention of the server, the response was more argument than acknowledgement or apology. When the chef came to the table, again more defense than conciliation. While another dish was eventually served, emphasis on eventually, the experience was ruined Other dishes were very nice, the fish and chips being noteworthy and the single menu item desert, was excellent.

   Laird, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad to see that most of your experience with great, noting our popular Fish & Chips and Whiskey Cake dessert. Our Rotisserie Farmbird can be a tricky one. With the chicken being a bone-in half bird, there are areas that can appear under cooked. We definitely are aware of this and ensure that the temp of the bird reaches safe eating temperatures of 165 degrees, twice. Regardless, if it's not your jam, we understand! Always willing to offer other offerings at a moments notice. Sorry it took us so long this time, it wasn't our intentions.    The Tavern Burger was hands down the best burger I have ever had! The goat cheese app and the deviled eggs, awesome. Amazing service. Perfect date night!

   My wife and I dined here following a spur-of-the-moment afternoon/evening in OKC. We had never been to Whiskey Cake before -- but had heard from some friends that they enjoyed it. We started off with Fried Green Tomatoes. While I have tried them at several places, it was my wife's first bite of this traditional southern snack. These were dipped in a batter, but wasn't too thick or heavy, and served with a remoulade sauce. They came out piping hot, and were enjoyable. My wife had the Fish + Chips -- a HUGE filet of cod, deep fried in a crunchy batter. The cod itself was a nice piece of fish, fairly thick, but cooked very well. I had the Dutch sandwich (sliced beef with peppers and onions). The roll was amazing, the contents extremely flavorful. We each had house-cut fries for our side. The fries were good, texture and appearance what you would expect. I will say, they were too salty for my taste. The salt was very fine -- but you could actually feel it on your fingers from handling the fries. You definitely needed some ketchup or remoulade sauce to cut down on the saltiness. The showstopper, however, was the Whiskey Cake. We took ours to go, because we just didn't have the room -- but didn't want to miss the experience. Once home, I split the generous piece, warmed it for just a few seconds in the microwave, and then applied the bourbon anglaise to the sticky toffee cake (that was coated with pecans), and piled on the homemade whipped cream. OMG. It was sooooo good. I would go back again because our food was good, but I wouldn't hesitate to stop in just for dessert. So, if you go for a burger, sandwich, or some other entree, save enough room (or get it to go like we did), but don't miss the Whiskey Cake at Whiskey Cake!
