   Menu was not overly pretentious and well priced relative to downtown restaurants. The one special that was very well done. Menu was varied with about a dozen offerings. Pork chop was very good. Flat bread with brie, cucumber was good. Service was very good and noise level was low, allowing for nice conversation, but it was a Sunday evening and dining room was only about third full. Martini was very good, as usual.

   With delicious food and reasonable prices, west 29th continues to be a favorite. My 6 oz steak, priced well under what most steakhouses charge, was perfectly prepared. The chimchurri sauce added just enough zing without overpowering the flavor of the meat. We enjoyed a quiet, early dinner indoors but will return soon for a lingering evening on the beautiful patio. If I lived within walking distance, I would be here several times a week!

   Adrienne is outstanding. She handled the whole restaurant, with BOH help. Bass special had a lot going on but it worked. Flatbread very good with apple and prosciutto working nicely, as well as the stroganoff, and ratatouille lasagna for our 20 month old. Excellent cocktail specialties and good job on the Vesper, which is sometimes a mess elsewhere. Not here! Always enjoy our dinners here; feels comfortable. Fireplace warms you on cool evenings. Very reasonable prices too, if you don't drink!

   We have enjoyed West 29th many times over the years. Sadly our recent visits have been disappointing. Food and service has changed dramatically for the worse. I am sorry because we will not go back for awhile.

   Nothing not to like. A cozy neighborhood restaurant that we will definitely be visiting again.

   Our waiter, Aidan, was amazing tonight. He took such good care of us; something you don't see that often these days. This place is a neighborhood gem. The food and drinks were all really good, and the service was exceptional! Thank you Aidan!

   Service was good, ambiance was good, but the food was kind of bland. The wedge avocado vinaigrette had no seasoning. The chunk of blue cheese was good, but it’s not practical on a salad and kind of annoying. Garlic mashed potatoes were gummy and also had little to no seasoning.

    Being seated next to the fireplace in the main dining room on a cold, snowy day is always enjoyable. West 29th reminds so much of cozy country inns in Europe. Adan and the remainder of the small wait staff were delightful, attentive and responsive, even when things got busy. They covered for each other very well. Unlike the other times we have dined there, the food was not outstanding. The Caesar Salad was very mildly seasoned, without that little garlicky kick we've come to expect. We did appreciate that the kitchen split it for usl The salmon was cooked well-done as my spouse prefers and the smally potatoes, that accompanied it, actually tasted sweet. Unfortunately, the Gorgonzola Beef Stroganoff was a flop for me. The dish I"ve enjoyed so many times is supposed to be a dish with tender pieces of meat, accompanied by noodles in a flavorful sauce...NOT a pasta dish in a creamy cheese sauce with half a dozen little chunks of tough beef, hidden under the noodles. Maybe the plentiful and very tasty mushrooms were suppose to make up for the lack and toughness of the meat, but that didn't work for me First really disappointing dish we've had there. We'll surely return, but will more wary when ordering.
