Ulele (pronounced you-lay-lee) celebrates the vibrant fusion of ingredients from Florida waters and land once home to many Native Americans, including the legendary young princess Ulele.

Located on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, 400 yards from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Indoor and outdoor waterfront dining. Lunch and dinner daily. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Featuring intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on our 10' round barbacoa grill.

Ulele operates in the lovingly re-imagined 1903 Tampa Heights Water Works building, which also includes its Ulele Spring Brewery to provide a number of craft beers on tap. Next door to Water Works Park.

Casual attire is fine, but we don’t allow sleeveless shirts on men in the indoor dining rooms.

    Food was absolutely outstanding with service to match. Ren was our waitress and she was very attentive and gave great recommendations. I was so impressed with the food and the quickness that it was prepared that I decided to get an appetizer, main, and dessert. I recommend the bread pudding for dessert:)

    I have been to Ulele before and this was the poorest food I've ever had there. The fries were cold, the po boy mediocre, the tuna without flavors, the burger was overcooked and hard. In general, the food was below average for way too high price. The cocktails were tasty.

    I will enjoy going back to this restaurant in the future and try it again. I wasn’t blown away but I’ll give it 4 stars for this visit. Our table of four had a good time and was overall pleased with food and service. Personally, I had the pork shank and it was done to perfection but the string beans were a bit too al dente. Appetizer, everyone share the grilled oysters. I about broke my tooth on some shell that was in the oyster and inescapable from all the cheese. It was a pretty big chunk so I was lucky. The oysters were overdone. I hear there is a masterclass at Drago’s in New Orleans so the chef needs to send his people there for training. Our waiter was really good, the ambience was nice. The 2nd floor is quieter than the lower level. For desert we had the Key Lime pie and it was good…very sweet but good. Our friends had the butter cake….it was 2 stars. When you’ve had the best (717) there aren’t many butter cakes that compare.

    Ulele was the perfect place for 7 of us to gather and spend some quality time. Our server, Lennon, was 15 out of 10. Absolutely a pleasure!!! He was knowledgeable, offered suggestions when asked and had an awesome personality. Just what our crew needed! The food was fabulous, as usual. The atmosphere was fun. This is my go to restaurant when I’m in Tampa visiting family & friends!!
