Disappointed - We are regular visitors to the Windmill however we visited on Mothering Sunday for a Mothers Day tea and were really disappointed. They were majorly understaffed, there were piles and piles of empty glasses on the bar and they only offered a limited menu where a number of dishes had sold out - including Sunday roast! The phone was ringing and ringing and nobody had the time to answer it. The wait for food was well over 40 minutes (for starters) which we wouldn't have minded if the pub was full, but it wasn't, it wasn't even half full. There appeared to be only 2 waiting staff working and one on the bar so at times the queue at the bar was almost to the door. We had to request more chips as what was brought was no where near enough for 5 adults.....overall we were very disappointed. I hope they can get back up to their normal standard before the regulars decide to go elsewhere.

This is a very good quality pub. Nothing fancy but really nice food - the haddock i had could have fed a family - and very pleasant and efficient staff. It was very busy as well when i went, a good sign for a restaurant, but service was brisk without rushing you. Very recommended.

Found a hair in the main course, didn't complain. Found a hair in the sweet ( blonde and im very dark!) So quietly told a member of staff. He took it away to kitchen and left me standing at the bar. Eventually I went back to my table thinking someone would come across. No.. The manager had been around all evening but suddenly disappeared at this point. I went back to bar and asked what they intended to do. I got my money back. Such a shame the manager couldn't manage an apology. I didn't make a fuss as these things happen (not usually twice) but an apology goes a long way. We all were disappointed as the pastry was burnt and hard and the burger was cold. We will not be going back.

Food and service good , the place was a bit cold depending on where you were seated. Disable car park places (2) are at the opposite side of the entrance door which is poorly planned

The service, food and overall feel of the place was excellent. The meals were hot and the veg was derved seperate, so yopu can get what you want. I had Sunday lunch and the only thing missing were home made yorkshire puddings even though the veg was all fresh. Would definately recommend.

We booked online for my birthday meal after my partner had been here a few months back and had a good meal. When we arrived on Sunday 20th we asked straight away for a jug of boiling water to heat my babies milk up in as he was crying and desperate for a feed. We ended up having to ask another 4 times before someone finally brought it out! But they brought out warm tap water! We had to send it back and finally got boiling water 40 minutes later! Service was naff, all kids under 20 who didn't give a toss. No personality or conversation skills! The lasagne had about a block of cheese on and my food garlic chicken with mushrooms gave me a bad stomach! Won't be returning!
