We enjoyed a very pleasant meal on Saturday night. Although busy, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was very well prepared and presented.

The staff at the White Hart were extremely friendly and welcoming, and remained attentive throughout the meal. The bread on the table was drizzled in oil and served with olive tapenade which was a very nice touch! My husband and I had a sharing platter for starter and every component was full of flavour. The main was also very tasty with a good portion size and the pudding menu was very varied with something for everyone! Although the bar area of the pub was really busy the tables in the restaurant were well spaced and you didn't feel at all crammed in. The town of Somerton itself is very pretty and we also stayed in one of the rooms in the pub which was very comfortable and clean with a luxurious bathroom! I would highly recommend a visit to this pub.

Very nice supper, on a quiet evening in July. Unfortunately we had to send one dish back as the fish was burnt, should not have come out of the kitchen like that. Not a problem as waitress resolved this very nicely took the dish back and another came out but not till I had finished my main which sort of spoils the atmosphere. Food very nice and portions a better size than they used to be here. Would go back again but might avoid the fish!

We have often visited for evening meals and even Christmas Eve a couple of years ago and the food has always been superb. This was our first visit for sunday lunch and we won't be going again. Arriving on time, at 2pm, we were seated straight away, Not menus, no offer of drinks. We waited. eight minutes. The waitress then started clearing the neighbouring table , asking them if they wanted dessert. We had to lean across to ask her for menus. They only just remembered to bring us the signature focaccia bread - that arrived about two minutes before the starter. We weren't offered any water. We had to ask. My crab stuffed tempura courgette starter was lovely, but my husbands mackerel pate and toast was terrible. Pate spread on a doorstep of toast. Like a childs supper dish. I think we are old enough to be able to spread our own pate and have it on toast that isn't soggy. We had the roast beef, and the roast fish. The potatoes were very over cooked and outside pretty solid. The insides were so dry, they were inedible. No sauce with the fish, so the whole dish was very dry. We had ice cream for dessert. That was ok! We did pass our feelings about the potatoes to the waitress, as they were left on the plate. She passed our comments on to management. The new manageress did come over to say she really valued our comments as the chef was new...... we then mentioned the pate. She said we weren't the first to say this. That was £65.00 ... we didn't get offered any reduction at all. very disappointing.

Went here again as really love the place which had been spoilt by a previously lukewarm main meal. We did complain and got free deserts offered, but I went hoping that it wouldn't happen again......it didn't and much to our amazement the chef gave my husband another piece of pork half way through eating as he didn't feel the first was big enough so more than made up for my previous experience. It was my birthday treat so it was a lovely meal and great experience, the food was superb. Will definitely return

The White Hart is really good, nice atmosphere and lovely surroundings. Food very good for a special meal out. As we live locally I would also like to see simple food as a choice for days when we can't be bothered to cook - but don't want food with quite so many ingredients and calories!

Really good food and excellent service. Not cheap but well worth it for a special occasion. Was on holiday and thought would try Sunday lunch. Glad we did.

This was our third meal at The White Hart, the experience this time was disappointing, the service, whilst good, was extremely slow, we had to wait for a very, very long time for starters and even longer for mains. Two of us had pork chops which were tough and difficult to cut. One expects to wait a bit for meals which are freshly cooked but this was not good. What a shame, as we've enjoyed meals at The White Hart on previous occasions.

Been here twice, first time lived up to expectations, second time poor. Visiting on a Thursday , only 2 waitresses on duty, although they were very pleasant and service was good. Food took a long time to arrive, small portions, ( squid salad only one small piece of squid) One main meal arrived only warm, which wasn't returned as we were hungry by this time and didn't want to wait further. However it was mentioned later on before ordering sweets, and our deserts were on the house. The deserts we had were very standard. This did leave us feeling rather unhappy with eating here. On the whole not good value.
