   Excellent choice of menu and exceptional value, service very good and setting would recommend to others and will definitely be back.

   Another superb meal at The Rag, nothing less than we have come to expect. The service was efficient from smiling young staff. The only bad thing is they are always booked up, so remember to book well in advance.

   Went for my Son's 21st having alerted the restaurant, not that we wanted special attention, but just so that they would be aware and to try to help us make it special with a smooth running operation. Arrived twenty mins early as we are used to pre dinner drinks and we asked if we could sit in the bar until it was time to order as it was a little less hectic. It was made clear that we should go to our table. The room was jammed with other complaining people...mainly service seemed to be the issue. The room was poorly ventilated and there were many people have to strip off their Sunday best (including such) to cool down! Starters arrived on time and were very nice...lacked presentation though. A small, but tasty flan, on a huge plate, no salad garnish...looked lost. Oddly the bread arrived after the starter...now, wouldn't it have ben a good idea to serve the bread as a nibble while pondering the menu? Mains arrived, with 6 excuses for roast potatoes...they were so tiny...the size of Jersey mids almost. We asked for more but we're sharply told that we had, had our quota! So, I offered to pay for more.......the sarcastic waitress brought 3 more to our table and informed us that chef had taken them off the next order? I'm not even going to comment on that! I could go on but it went from one thing to another so, in the end, I wrapped up our meat ( I always take foil for my doggies treat) but this time the veg too. We did have the morsel of a desert and we departed £70 plus lighter for the three of us! I utilised what I had taken home and added three good steaks and a pepper sauce and we found ourselves eating this on my sons twenty first, at home, at 7pm that evening. Such a shoddy let down! I have visited the pub on many occasions, but clearly the pack in the punters whenever they can and everyone is so under pressure that it ceases to function. Lots of moaning customers that day, many of whom were locals...we know because they were talking to us about the experience.

   Raved about this place to our friends - what a disappointment! My first choice was unavailable, and one member of the party had to settle for fourth choice as the first three dishes she chose were all no longer available. ( All at just 1pm!) A very disappointing visit, even the usual homely pleasant atmosphere was missing! We shall take them to another place next time!

   Went to Sunday lunch with friends who came across from Malvern. Our friends particularly enjoy the food, and the location, and they usually request that we book a table at The Rag. My husband and I have been to The Rag on numerous occasions - Sunday lunch, weekday lunch and weekday evenings. It has only once disappointed. We always look forward to our visits and would highly recommend. Only one gripe - you are not greeted and immediately shown to your table and are instead left to mill around the bar trying to order drinks. I do wish that they'd sort this out.

   Always delivers on brilliant food and choices ,service was a bit slow which is unusual but restaurant was quite busy and seemed a few new staff on duty . We still had a great evening thank you .

   The food was lovely. Thanks to the chef. The younger waitresses were perfect and very attentive. Would recommend. Decor could do with modern alterations.

   Excellent service and great food that was good value for money. The menu was varied enough to suit all palates

    We were a party of 7 on Christmas Eve. Some of our group got lost on the way and were late. Staff patient, although offer of more drinks while we waited would have been welcome. But when we eventually ate, the food was good. I couldn't quite understand why the whole group had to choose from either the Christmas OR the usual menu - the place was only half full, & with only 1 veggie option, a bit more flexibility would have been appreciated. But very good value, delightfully free of piped music & overtired toddlers & a good choice for a Christmas get together.
