The food was great...portions were fair..drinks over priced as expected ...the server we had was great and met our dining needs and was patient with our guest...highly recommend the Mill on the river

We have often eaten at the Mill and always enjoyed it very much in every regard. Last night was a big exception. The service was much too fast!!! Before we even sat down or took off our coats we were asked if we wanted water, the waitress came quickly for drink orders, rolls came before our drinks were served. Before sipping our drinks the waitress wanted our order. Appetizers came quickly and the meal very quickly after the apps. Two of the three of us had an attempt made to take our plates away and we were not yet finished eating!!!! The dessert menu was rattled off to us while we were still eating our meals. The bill came a minute after the desserts!!!!! It was like running a marathon! As we were leaving and new people came to the next table the same thing happened to them. Before they sat down the water server was at the table!! This never happened to us before. I lessened my tip to 15% and I usually tip at least 25%. I just felt the service was a big rush with little time to enjoy each other’s company or our food.

My husband and I went out on yesterday for a Valentines Day celebration. We sat on the covered deck overlooking the river, with overhead heat registers that needed to be adjusted, which the waiter gladly cooperated with. Everything we had was wonderful- I recommend the Maryland crab cake, the pecan crusted salmon and the Lake Georges cod. Our only objection was the sauerkraut paired with the salmon- weird. Why not sautéed mixed veggies, or peas or escarole? The menu is pricey, but the portions were reasonable and the taste exceptional!

We came to have dinner and as usual Mill on the River never disappoints. From the soup and appetizers to the entrees and dessert, it was all top notch. The service and ambiance were perfect. My wife and I had an amazing night. We will be back again.

This was a fantastic visit to Mill on the River. Our server was extremely attentive and kind. The views are so pleasant so it makes it a perfect place to take a loved one. The food was also amazing. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything from the steaks to the dessert is so good! I highly recommend a trip.
