   Jst a fantastic evening. We had not been in so long. You easily fall into trap of thinking such places are indeed tourist traps. But this is the real deal: lovely decor, excellent food (and sizable portions), and attentive staff. And post dinner some wonderful jazz in the bar area. Cannot think of a better way to spend an anniversary in our own city!

   Perfect service ….food and drinks were delicious…..only disappointment was that it was not decorated for Christmas yet.

   Excellent food and service. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner date very much. And the chocolates gift was a very nice touch.

   Our Hostess and Waiter were friendly and most helpful. The food and dessert was excellent. Great atmosphere and location. Would recommend Tavern on the Green to anyone living in NYC or just visiting. Tavern on the Green was one of our highlights while visiting NYC.

   Went for the experience and the ambiance was lovely but the food was disappointing. Menu was basic and food presentation was fine but entrees were salty and overcooked.

   Three of our dishes were quite good—the deep fried crab cake, the clam chowder, and the beef short ribs. The Bronzino was just ok. The skin was not crispy and the fennel and artichoke hearts were bland and mushy. In hindsight, I should have listened more closely to our server who, when asked, recommended several dishes, including the three good dishes we ordered. We were disappointed that the rolls were stale and the only Chardonnay by-the-glass was tasteless. However, we would go back. It would be easy to avoid the disappointments and focus on the dishes that were good. The setting is very pretty, and service was pleasant and attentive.
