   It was everything we expected and more. We went twice in 2 days, and Mark Y. & Mark C. could not have been more accommodating. Fantastic shrimp cocktail, and the steaks were amazing.

   Our waiter (a seasoned one) told us that meat was always on the rare side, so if I wanted it medium I should ask for medium-well. It wasn't that way, I got a medium-well to well done ribeye when asked for medium-well, expecting for a medium. He also should warned us about the shrimp sauce. It was SO HOT that I barely could keep the food in my mouth without spitting it. I'll never ask for it again. Overall, medium to the dry side. Next time I'll try a different steak house that have good meat at not so expensive price. I feel like I paid for a little bit of history, that was gone long time ago.

   We love coming here. We made a special stop on our way home from Chicago just to eat here. We decided to forgo our table in the back and sat at the bar due to the better ambiance. Service was top notch - very attentive. The shrimp cocktail is always a must but the cocktail sauce was extra intense this time. We ordered filets - flavor was great but arrived slightly cold. Overall a great time! Will continue to come back!

   Ricardo was an awesome waiter. Everything was great. However the main event (Steak) was just ok. Thought it would have been better Kinda expensive and the steak was not WOW.

   A major disappointment. St Elmo is not what it once was. The good; our waitress was very attentive and timely. The bad; most everything else. The ambiance is meh, close seating arrangements, people wearing sweat pants. Feels more like a tourist trap than a fancy steakhouse. The food; shrimp appetizer is what it is, super hot shrimp cocktail. Not exciting. The steaks. I ordered the more expensive, dry aged strip, apparently the aging process removes all flavor. My wife had the prime non aged strip (less expensive) better steak bit fat from great. Baked potato over cooked. My first steak was overcooked, sent it back and got a less cooked, flavorless steak. I would save your money and go elsewhere. Capital Grille and is far superior.

   I recently had an exceptional dining experience at a restaurant, making it one of my best in 2023. The evening began with cocktails on the second-floor bar, where the attentive staff crafted impeccable drinks. My husband, a Knob Creek old-fashioned enthusiast, was pleased with the finely balanced taste and presentation, featuring a single rock and a clear ice cube for added sophistication. Intrigued by a fellow diner's praise for the espresso martini, I decided to try it, and it lived up to its reputation, becoming a popular choice throughout the restaurant. Moving to our table we noticed bar seating avaialable and strategically placed ourselves at the far end of the bar, we embraced the lively atmosphere of the main service area. Despite potential concerns, this spot holds sentimental value for us. Promptly approached by the staff, we ordered shrimp cocktails and a refreshing spinach salad with outstanding goat cheese. Impressed by the salad's freshness, I opted for a second round. Although not in the mood for a full dinner, the spinach salad was too enticing to resist again. My husband, a steak aficionado, ordered a Pittsburgh rare steak with a loaded baked potato. Despite previous disappointments at other prime steakhouses, this experience exceeded our expectations. I confidently declare it the best steak I've had in years, surpassing even the renowned Jeff Ruby's. From exquisite cocktails to delightful appetizers and an outstanding steak, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience, making it a standout in 2023.

   Yes it’s a Indy icon. Food was good but presentation has a lot to be desired at this price point. The shrimp cocktail is all about the cocktail sauce. Service was good but not exceptional. It’s a bucket list if you’re heading to Indy. But once is more than enough.

    St. Elmo’s never disappoints. We were just in town for the evening and were able to sit in the bar area. We ordered their famous shrimp cocktail, the tomato onion and blue cheese salad and a loaded baked potato. Everything was amazing. The service as always was top notch, our server was pleasant and attentive. The food came out very quickly. We will definitely recommend and will definitely return when we visit Indianapolis again.
