If we could put a 10 for service we would. Spencer was so attentive, informative and professional. And Philip a huge bonus. Best steakhouse in the country!!

Stuffed shrimp were over and one ribeye was not a good cut, otherwise food was really good. Service excellent! Thanks to Richard and the team!

Wow… dinner at St. Elmo Steak House was an unforgettable experience! We were warmly welcomed by the hostesses and quickly taken to our table. We dined in the Card Room, where the ambiance was rich with charm. Our server, Richard, introduced himself with genuine enthusiasm and provided impeccable service throughout our experience. The World Famous Shrimp Cocktail lived up to its name—bursting with flavor and bracingly spicy, it packed a punch that brought me tears. I enjoyed the 28 oz. Porterhouse Steak with mashed potatoes, while my guest indulged in the 14 oz. Ribeye paired with a baked potato. Both steaks were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and filled with great flavors. St. Elmo Steak House, the oldest steakhouse in Indianapolis, is a culinary institution that every food lover should experience at least once!

Although the dining area was beautiful, the food was underwhelming. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail. But the spinach salad was a sweet salad and yet had tomatoes that didn't seem to go with it. The ribeye was overcooked and the gorgonzola horseradish butter failed to enhance the flavor. The tuna was very good, although I have had better sauces with seared tuna. The white chocolate blueberry bread pudding would have been better if it had been served warm with more sauce on it, but instead it was served room temperature. Our server was not terribly friendly and were treated as though he did not care about our experience since we were not regular diners.

To start our waiter made us feel very rushed. The shrimp cocktail was delicious but the cocktail sauce would be better on the side. No need to order the soup of the day because the navy bean soup was delicious. Our steaks varied…some were good some were dry…we ordered between medium and medium rare. The sides (creamed spinach and potatoes Romanoff) were meh. Glad we went because it is an Indianapolis staple but really no need to return
