   I've been to Spencer's before and had a wonderful experience but this time the service was poor and we felt forgotten. Additionally the "Kung Pao Calamari" was really just fried calamari with a Thai sweet chili sauce on it...nothing special. We went to celebrate a birthday and found the whole experience to be really disappointing.

   We are local residents and always enjoy a relaxing and delicious meal at Spencer's. The Caesar salad and BBQ pork ribs made a nice start for our dinner. Ordered the oven roasted Sonoma duck breast accompanied by a flavorful sauce. The double breast of chicken was tender and a large portion. The gratinee potatoes were very nice. The Chocolate Pot de Cream was the best ending to our meal. Service is always attentive without being rushed.

   There may have been an angry tennis player near where we were eating or someone was having a stressful match but there was a lot of yelling during the course of our meal so that was off-putting. The food was underwhelming which left us disappointed and the waitstaff seemed uninterested in serving us. It wasn’t horrid but it wasn’t delightful either. Perhaps it was an off night? Our calamari was not tender, but hard and difficult to chew yet the flavors were very tasteful. The pork chop and filet Mignon were both undercooked to our liking and surprisingly the star of the night was the macaroni au gratin, for us anyway. We have had much better service and food from breakfast and brunch so it may have just been an off night. We will try again in the future.

   We stopped by for lunch and can hardly wait to return for dinner in the future. Greenery, trees, a pool and the mountains provided a wonderful, relaxing environment. We simply ordered hamburgers, grilled cheese, fries and crisp rosé. While the meal was delicious the ambiance was amazing as well. We look forward to an evening under twinkling lights and a chef inspired dinner.
