Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in a 150 year old Seagram’s building, minutes west of the Waterloo Uptown Core. The interior soars two stories high to a timber frame ceiling, exposed brick and generous wood finishes, set the tone for an elegant yet casual experience.

The menu will transport your palate to a bistro somewhere in Europe. Items ranging from fresh-baked pizzas, pastas, vegetarian entrées, steaks, and seafood will satisfy any appetite.     Beautiful place, service was excellent (sorry didn’t catch her name). We sat on the patio which was lovely. Food was delicious and portions were just enough. A bit pricey

    Amazing experience! Sole never disappoints. I came with my mom and sister for a girls' night and we ordered the French Onion Soup, 2 burgers and the sweet potato lasagna. I made some adjustments to my meal and they perfectly executed it. We ate every last bite. The waitress was super friendly, attentive and sweet. We were so pleasantly greeted and the waitress asked if we had any allergies as we first ordered and I loved that because I do! We sat in the bar area! Keep in mind the tables are pretty tiny, but we made it work with two side-by-side. Can't wait to come back :)

    I was disappointed in the Sole salad. It was a generous serving. But, I think it could have had quite a bit more apple. I had to hunt for the few small diced pieces. I think a few larger slices of apple would improve the salad. The shrimp pasta dish was delicious. I will order it again, for sure! My friend ordered the sweet potato lasagna and enjoyed it. The latte wws one of the best I have ever had. The service was great. It was a busy night but everything came promptly.

    This was a disappointment after anticipating a visit to Sole for some time. Food was excellent and the venue very lovely. The service sadly was disinterested and lackluster. The waiter who started with us appeared to be also managing the bar on the other side of the restaurant. After the first encounter, we had the odd person check in as they went past or if we asked for something. If the bartender/waiter had passed us to another waitstaff we were not made aware. We have been to all other restaurants in the Charcoal group and sadly, this beautiful restaurant did not measure up.

    Our first experience sitting in the bar area and it was great. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the bar area was like a little shelter from the hustle and bustle. I will be very tempted to reserve in the bar area again. I didn’t lead with comments on the food because I have never had a meal at Solé that wasn’t delicious and that applies to last evening as well. The service was also excellent as usual and Phillip made us feel like we had a personal server.
