   I made reservations five weeks ago for Saturday night of Easter weekend at Shanghai Terrace. Confirmed them as well. We arrived on time for our table at 7:30pm and were told that we were going to be seated in the Lobby dining room and not in the restaurant. When I said no, we had a reservation for the restaurant, we were told the next available table in the restaurant was 8:45 and were told to go to the Z Bar for a drink. Also were told by the hostess we had signed up for the Lobby dining. Absolutely was untrue. Would never have done that. Had an email to prove it as well. Lobby dining nothing special and a different restaurant. Had dinner after 9:00pm in the Shanghai restaurant finally. Am sure our 7:30 table was given to a guest staying in the hotel at the last minute. We live nearby so we’re not guests. Very unprofessional and extremely inconsiderate in the way everything was handled. Will not be dining there again.

   The service was great but they stuck us in the main lobby of the hotel which is vast and was empty so the experience was not what I had expected. I brought a guest from out of town and they were disappointed that we had to sit in a huge empty room.

   The restaurant is a little hard to find in the hotel but well worth the effort. We and friends had a wonderful meal. What great service!!! Get the crispy shrimp and any of the dim sum. Take your time and enjoy. You will definitely want to come back.

   Perfect again. The Peking duck is delicious. I also enjoyed the stir fried bok choy. But the food highlight this time was the Kung Pao chicken (recommended by Max, on my previous visit). Service was excellent, this time by Paula (with occasional visit by Max as bonus). Hope to return to Chicago soon with my wife so that she can experience the perfection.

   Food was flavorful although didn't come out steaming hot, as all Chinese food should be served. Peking duck was authentic and the stir-fried green beans were lovely with garlic. Service was friendly but a little overbearing (insisted on serving food on my plate rather than allowing me to eat at my own pace). Otherwise, the menu was a bit limited. Would I return? Not likely, there are many other choices on Chicago to try!
