I've never been to Valley Green Inn before and it did not disappoint. We went for Easter brunch for a prix fix menu and it was hard to decide because the selections all looked wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, had a lot to doggy bag to take home and we appreciated the thoughtful service. We wondered why we had never been here before.

In Riva is a Southern Italian inspired restaurant with urban flair, specializing in Napoletana style pizza, house-made pasta and contemporary antipasti. In Riva also offers an eclectic array of new and old world wines, Italian craft beers and racy specialty cocktails.

Scarpetta is great for some things. The octopus was awesome. Gorgeous atmosphere and excellent service. However—there was NOTHING about 75% of our meal that justified the price. $40 for spaghetti and meatballs? Three meatballs and a passable tomato sauce with average pasta. An arugula salad for $25? If you go I’d suggest going at happy hour. Otherwise it’s not worth it. There are better Italian spots all over that take the same care with their food but don’t charge you hotel restaurant prices.

Situated at the entrance gate to Philadelphia's historic Navy Yard, an old gatehouse houses this lively yet laidback eatery featuring a large outdoor patio and beer garden. Boasting happy hour specials and shareable plates, lunch specials and a full dinner menu, Gatehouse is the ideal spot to enjoy a few light bites and beverages or sit down to a flavorful meal. It's proximity to event and sporting venues also makes it the perfect stop before a concert or game.

This was our first time at the Gatehouse. The atmosphere at lunchtime was great: lots of people enjoying themselves. Service was quick and efficient. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Some dishes were unique and definitely worth trying. Old standbys, like fish and chips, were outstanding as well. There are many more things on the menu we want to try. We don’t live in Philly itself but make frequent trips to the city. The Gatehouse will become one of our “go to” places for eating.
