   I would like to see a wider variety of items on the price fixed menu. I used to go more often when this was implemented menu wide with price variations for higher priced items.

   Always pleased to visit this Franchise of the Roy’s system. Good decor, traffic pattern, and not packed in like many restaurants in this part of the State. Fresh and well maintained. Was welcomed and seated promptly. Heide took good care of us. Wife had Mac-Crusted Mahi-Mahi and I had the Fillet. Her entree was perfect. My fillet had to be sent back as it was not grilled medium but rare by the Chef. Manager came to apologize and made sure everything was going to be ok. Once returned, entree was perfect.

   It was Easter Sunday and Roy's offered an entree that sounded quite appealing; it was Rack of lamb with a marcona almond crumb topping. It was very nicely done. What made our visit to Roy's a huge disappointment was not the food; it was the matter of DETAILS. We have been fans of Roys since we visited the very first Roys in Hawaii when it first opened. Yet, we are not sure we will return to Roys in Bonita for a long time. First, no wait staff interacted with us for almost a half hour; our water glasses were filled but even our drink order was not taken for what seemed like a long time. I then ordered a gin martini straight up - no olive, no twist, nothing except the drink. It seemed to take a long time to make! Looking at the drink, I thought perhaps there were ice particles from being shaken; I delayed drinking it and when I looked again, saw small dark particles that did NOT belong. After what seemed like a long discussion at the bar, another drink was made and delivered. Most surprisingly, in this one, you could see a dark area inside the drink at the bottom of the glass. Using a spoon, the particles dispersed. It seemed like an unclean glass, actually, but it was astonishing that neither the bartender nor waitstaff checked the new drink carefully. Back it went, and a third drink arrived, and it was as one should expect, free of extraneous suspicious specks, a drink that cost about $20 including tax and tip! As we had lost our appetites, we cut back, ordering an entree and two appetizers. The shrimp appetizer strangely was miniscule tasteless shrimp, and the ribs were perhaps 80% fat. We had one more concern: the tableware was streaky & poorly washed. I did not want to complain again, but when the manager asked how everything was, I did. One expects better at Roys and one is willi ng to pay for better. It was not a good experience.

   The evening started out with a limited menu due to it being Easter. They had many less items than they normally have on their menu. There was nothing New added. It was just cut to a smaller menu. I walked in, and there was a bug in my water glass. One of the reasons I love coming, is because my daughter can get salmon from the kids menu. But tonight, the menu choices for children were things such as macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers. This is fine, but not when you choose an upscale restaurant for Easter dinner. Especially when the chicken fingers she had to choose were of poor quality, and so thickly breaded, she could barely chew them . We ordered bread as an appetizer, and it never came. When we asked about it, they told us that it was not on the menu due to the limited menu choices. OK, but then why did you allow us to order it? We also saw other people at other tables eating bread.  My husbands Sea Bass was very well prepared. My tofu meal was undercooked and sitting in a soupy liquid.  we also ordered three soufflés when the waiter brought one for my daughter, It was smashed, and the liquid was flowing all over the already melted ice cream. He made the comment. “Well, this one already popped, but it will still taste good.” my daughters kids meal was supposed to come with an ice cream Sunday. It was never brought out and we were never asked if we even wanted it.  Nothing really tremendously bad happened. But when you’re spending this much money for food, especially on a holiday. You expect it to be quality. We left feeling disappointed. The manager wasn’t very helpful and just made excuses about it being a limited menu due to Easter. Unfortunately, this restaurant has seemed to go downhill a bit. It has been one of our favorite places for years, but the quality is just hit or miss . When you’re paying prices for quality dining, you hope for something more consistent. We probably will not return.

   Enjoyed a fantastic Easter brunch with family. Great service, food and drinks. I almost forgot how much I loved going to Roy’s in Southern California.

   We waited 30 min. to get water (sparking). Another 20 to get our cocktails. We sent them back because they had obviously set at the bar for 30 minutes. We have been coming here for 2 decades…what a disappointment. We had 3 different servers and the manager came over 3 times. $52 entrees…with fast food service. Food was average at best. Thanks for free dessert to try and make up for the evening. Bill was $460.00. What a miss. We wont be back

   Roland was our server and he was great! The food was excellent, the entire staff and manager were friendly and attentive. It was a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely be back to Roy’s soon!
