   We ate there Valentine’s Day 19, we were seated in the back room . Looked like an overflow dinning area, no windows and hot. Service poor, lack of waiter availability. Portions small, overpriced for food received. Would not recommend this establishment, items on menu not available.

   This was my first time visiting the restaurant and it definitely will be my last. My friend and I ordered a seafood dish and it tasted lovely, however, the lobster specifically had a foul smell and taste. We told our waiter that the lobster was bad and he was apologetic and went to get the chef. The chef came out with an attitude and after rudely speaking to us, he snatched the plate from the table and stormed off. Shocked by his behavior, we remained calm while speaking to him. The chef then came back to us moments later to accuse my friend of eating all of the lobster on her plate. We calmly explained to him that there were 2 pieces on the plate and only 1 was eaten. He then barked back that there are 3 pieces of lobster with every dish and stormed off again. He was very aggressive in his manner with us and extremely rude. I will never dine here again and I recommend that no one else dine there either. Once we left, we saw numerous reviews on google of how rude the chef/manager was to guests in the past. I have never been treated this way at any establishment and I am appalled that they are still in business with a person that doesn’t have customer service skills.

   While i was thoroughly impressed with the food and the service from the waiters was excellent, I did have a problem with the seating arrangement. I had booked a reservation for 7:30 and when I arrived I was told there would be a 5-10 minute wait so I could just sit in the bar while I wait for the table. I did not get seated until around 8:15 and did not even get seated in the restuarant area, they put me in a booth at the bar. I dont see the use of having a reservation service if I couldve just walked in and sat at the table I was seated at instead of being thrown in limbo with the entire seating arrangement.

   First review I've ever left for a restaurant, I am a server in fine dinning and I have been blown away by the service standards Rocco's hold up. Nate, our server was informative, professional, and far from intrusive. The ambience paired perfectly with the amazing food that did more than impress. Btw, the tiramisu is the best I've ever had in my life... 5 stars to the gem rocco's!

   The best things that we noticed on our first visit to Rocco’s was the server Dean, the bread and the friendliness of the staff The food was not as good as I hoped. It tasted fine but I was hoping for very good authentic Italian The olive oil was very light and had no taste which made us wonder if it was mixed with Canola Oil. They do put roasted garlic in the oil which is a very nice touch. We asked two times (main server and another server) for extra virgin olive oil and just got more of the light yellow oil. The food took an extremely long time to come out even though we were there well after any rush. We didn’t see any other food come out for maybe 15 min or so and yet we waited about 40 minutes, or more, for our meals. The veal special seemed to have been cooked in a deep fryer like fried chicken. It had a strong vegetable oil taste and very little red sauce for a veal parmesan dish. The lasagna tasted nice with a decently prepared ragu but was limited in layers, had either no cheese or so little it was not detectable and there was no ricotta which I think is key to a great lasagna. The Caesar salad was very bland and unremarkable. I think they could do better by creating a new and homemade dressing and getting some really special shaved parm or Romano cheese. This restaurant has lots of potential, feels cozy and classy at the same time, and has a passionate server in Dean but could build upon what it already has by pushing the limits on quality of ingredients and preparation

    My new favorite Italian restaurant in Winter Park. My first visit after years of driving by the restaurant. Wish I had gone sooner. A friend recommended it awhile back, wish I had gone sooner. Traditional Italian, Great wines by the bottle. Wish they had a better selection by the glass. I had a seafood stew - grouper, lobster, clams, calamari and mussels...excellent. My wife had the chicken parm, also very good. She only had half of her meal so I enjoyed the leftovers the next day (very good warmed up.) Already looking forward to my next visit.
