Sakana Sushi Lounge is the culmination of hand selected fish and creative Japanese cuisine in an elegant yet comfortable space in Downtown Los Angeles. We'll be the first to admit it; quality is not what it used to be. Our restaurant's focus is on using the highest quality ingredients which may be a paradigm shift in an our fast paced world. Our team hand selects real fish on a daily basis as a ritual and deep commitment to those who allow us the pleasure of serving them. Our restaurant's recipes and methods are rich in decades of experience, while our dining area commands a stylish contemporary edge. Our expert staff isn't just here to serve, but really to be a guide into a unique, Japanese experience through a menu of thoughtful and flavorful selections.

    The food was great! The drinks are amazing, the restaurant looks very nice and elegant. But the service can be better and much friendlier.

    We made reservations for 10:45 and didn’t get seated until 11:25 and then once we were sat we didn’t get checked on at all by waiters and mandatory tip

    We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day, when we arrived we were sat at the bar to which I asked if we could take a table, but were told only outside lol. The inside is nice and looks like a classy restaurant but once you’re outside it’s like a strip mall sushi bar. I was a bit disappointed. Moving on, the food was delicious the fish is very fresh and almost buttery so so good! The service was also very good although one of our rolls wasn’t event cut completely thru and eating it was difficult and messy nonetheless the flavor was there. Would I go back? Yes. Would worry about making a reservation? No.

    Fish HELLA fresh Service was triste, but to be fair it was Valentine's day. The dragon roll and creamy langostino 🤌

    Sakana was the best hands down. Service was fast, great customer service, very classy, clean, with nice music, fresh food, and a great vibe.

    I am a Sushi connoisseur and would highly recommend Sakana! Good selection of great tastings rolls and the nigiri was fresh and ample in the portion size. Fun and lively ambiance and the staff was on point! Great stop for a date or group.

    Good quality fish, poor execution with sloppy rolls and unevenly cut fish. Happy hour is confusing with limit by table regardless of party size. Cocktails were good
