VENETO is a dining experience that brings to life the history, culture, and traditions of a region in Northeastern Italy. It's a warm, enlightening setting that leaves bodies, minds, and spirits nourished through quality, handmade cuisine — best shared in good company, with love.

Our menu honors year-round classical favorites and seasonal specialties from the region of Veneto, with ingredients coming from Italy and the finest local purveyors. But it's the experience around those elements that you won't forget.

Being at VENETO is like being in Amy & Marco's home. It's a warm, inviting environment curated with one-of-a-kind antique European furniture and accessories, from the hundreds-year old Italian sofa in the dining room to the Italian marble in the restrooms. Best Italian food in SLC. Wine list is extensive but very expensive I’d suggest adding more moderately priced wines to the list. I’m a California winery owner and I believe that most people are overwhelmed by the list ( especially if they are not very familiar with Italian varietals). I was impressed with an Italian sparkling that we ordered.

We were excited to try this restaurant after reading some reviews. Unfortunately, this place is way overpriced, the food is underseasoned and the wait time for the food is unreasonable. We ate at 7:45. We spent some time looking over the menu, after we started to order the waitress who seemed indifferent, told us she was out of three of the six items we wanted to order. After ordering, we waited 15 minutes for a bland puff pastry then 30 minutes for our first course, which was extraordinarily under seasoned an oily. 30 minutes later we got our second course, though my wife’s pasta was probably the best dish we had had it was tongue burning hot, but my duck Raghu was bland, lacking salt or any depth of flavor. Another 20-30 later our main course arrived, though my wife’s fish was perfectly cooked, it was also flavorless and underseasoned and my 40+ dollar tenderloin was too small pieces of steak with a couple of seared vegetables nothing wlse again as you can see with the theme here it lacked flavor and though I asked for it rare, it was overdone This restaurant was extraordinarily expensive, It took us two hours to eat, and we left extremely disappointed.

This was our first time at Venetto. We enjoyed the the pastas, they are excellent. The flavors excede our expectations. We enjoyed the experience. Service was on point, every member of the staff was very cordial, seem happy to serve us. They took under consideration our celebrations, and integrated to the moment. We also like that tip is not required, and the restaurant pays its employees fully. I assumed the price of the food covers for it. This encourage everyone to be happily working there. We will definitely planning to go back.

Veneto is, hands down, the best fine dining experience in Salt Lake City. Marco and Amy Stevanoni train their staff to deliver a Michelin quality experience. I chose Veneto to propose to my fiancé. Amy arranged for a bouquet of flowers for the table and coordinated with the maitre'd to film the proposal at desert as I dropped to my knee to ask her to marry me. It was all exceptional. The wine was was a Zyme Kairos. A bold red. Perfect for our ricotta and radicchio salad, risotto with smoked eel and black angus filet. Desert was the trifecta chocolate mousse cake (perfect for a proposal). We will always remember this evening. Thank you, Marco and Amy.

FAQs

Portions at VENETO tend toward refined, restaurant-style servings rather than oversized plates. Guests often describe courses as elegantly portioned, especially on the tasting menus, and a few have felt some a la carte dishes were small for the price. If you want heartier portions, consider sharing pasta and a second entrée or ordering multiple courses so you leave satisfied.

Yes, VENETO is frequently recommended for date nights and special occasions. Guests praise its intimate, cozy dining room, European antiques, slow-paced multi-course meals, and an exceptional wine list that makes evenings feel special. Expect a refined, romantic atmosphere best enjoyed without rushing; consider a midweek or early seating for a quieter experience. Call ahead if you’d like a porch or patio table for an al fresco vibe.

VENETO is open for dinner most evenings. According to the restaurant, regular hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Because the restaurant is small and often books up for tasting menus or special events, it’s wise to reserve in advance and double-check hours for holidays or special service nights.

Yes, calling ahead is encouraged. Guests report the staff and owners are attentive and can often accommodate requests like porch/patio seating, dietary needs (including gluten concerns), birthday or anniversary notes, and child-friendly pasta. Because the space is small, specific seating needs or accessibility requests are best handled by phone so the team can prepare and confirm.

VENETO frequently books up, especially for weekend tasting menus and special evenings. While reviews don’t explicitly mention a formal waiting list, guests strongly recommend making reservations in advance. If the night you want is full, call the restaurant, the staff may place you on a cancellation list or offer alternatives.

For a calm, intimate experience, choose a midweek evening (Tuesday–Thursday). Guests consistently report weekdays are quieter and allow you to savor the tasting menu or a multi-course dinner without the bustle of weekend crowds. If you enjoy a busier scene and don't mind more noise, weekend nights showcase a lively atmosphere and full wine list service.

For a quieter, more intimate experience, midweek evenings (Tuesday–Thursday) or earlier dinner seatings are usually best. Guests consistently report that weekend nights, especially Saturday, can be lively and occasionally loud when larger parties are present. If you prefer calm conversation and steady pacing between courses, aim for a weekday reservation or request a porch/patio table when booking.

VENETO is a family-run restaurant owned and operated by Marco and Amy. Marco frequently appears in reviews as a welcoming host and wine expert who curates the deep Italian wine list, while Amy helps create the warm, home-like dining environment and hospitality the restaurant is known for.

The ambience at VENETO is warm, elegant and authentically Italian, think antique European décor, soft pacing of courses, and an emphasis on conversation. Guests often call it cozy, romantic, and reminiscent of dining in Italy. Note that because the room is small, noise from boisterous parties can carry; most guests, however, praise the attentive service and relaxed, unhurried European-style experience.

VENETO is busiest on weekend nights (especially Saturday) and during special tasting events or holidays, when large parties can increase noise and fill the intimate dining room. The quietest times tend to be midweek evenings (Tuesday–Thursday) and earlier dinner seatings, when guests report a calmer, more private experience and steady pacing between courses.

Families do dine at VENETO, and the staff have accommodated children with simple pasta options. That said, the restaurant is small, refined, and best suited for older children or well-behaved youngsters who can enjoy a leisurely meal. For a family visit, consider an earlier seating and call ahead so the team can recommend a suitable table and menu choices.

The dress code is business casual. Guests typically dress nicely for the refined, European-style dining experience, think smart casual or slightly dressy attire for a date night or special occasion. If you’re uncertain about formality for a particular event, calling ahead will help you match the evening’s vibe.

Yes, VENETO offers limited outdoor seating, including a front porch and a patio. Guests mention enjoying dining on the porch or patio on pleasant evenings; if you prefer outdoor seating, request it when you make your reservation, as outdoor tables are limited and popular.
