Sunday was a slow day - July 4th weekend. I know that servers, bartenders and busboys act more efficiently when they are busy. A slow day = slow service. The kitchen was not the problem. Food -as always - was very good. I noticed that neither the bartenders, servers, busboys and the manager seemed to avoid making eye contact. Via Alloro is one of my favorite restaurants and I go there often. This was one of the most disappointing times I have been there over several years.

I thought the food and service were excellent. My only criticism was the music which was awfully loud. Made it difficult at times to talk.

Outstanding food and service with minimal drama and hassle. The simplicity of the food is deceptive and eating here is like eating at your grandmother’s house if she made brilliant pasta, salads, pizza and desserts. We eat there nearly every time we are in Beverly Hills!

We had a wonderful date at this restaurant. Everything was delicious and even the chef came out to make sure I enjoyed my seafood carbonara pasta dish. I don’t know how he got the mussels to taste so amazing but he said it’s just good quality. The wine I had was also very good. We will be back again soon with family so they can try it.

We had mussels, cauliflower soup and shared seabass dish for $62. The food was well prepared and delicious. Sat away from the street at a table for two which was quiet. Excellent attention to our table from staff.

The wrap-around patio and cozy indoor dining create romantic options (people-watching on Canon Dr. or a quieter inside table). Note: it can be lively at peak times, so request a quieter inside table or an early seating if you prefer a more intimate vibe.

They do operate on at least some holidays, guests report the restaurant serving Valentine’s Day with full service. Holiday hours may vary, so call ahead or check for special hours or prix-fixe events before visiting on a public holiday.

Portions at Via Alloro tend to be generous, many guests describe large, well-priced servings and hearty entrees. Pasta and mains are often noted as satisfying, and several guests called out “large portions” and “generous” plating. If you want to share starters and a pasta, the portions typically accommodate that comfortably.

For a quieter, more relaxed experience, lunch or early weekday dinners are ideal, guests often praise the peaceful outdoor lunches and calm patio areas. If you want atmosphere and people-watching, weekend evenings and holiday nights (e.g., Valentine’s Day) deliver a lively scene but can be busy, so reserve in advance.

Busiest: weekend evenings and holidays (Valentine’s Day and special nights draw crowds). Quietest: weekday lunches and early dinner seatings; some patio areas are noted as particularly peaceful. If you prefer calm, aim for weekday lunch or an early dinner.

Warm, lively, and authentically Italian, Via Alloro mixes a bustling Beverly Hills patio (great for people-watching) with a cozy indoor dining room. Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, comfortable service, and atmospheric lighting. Note: it can get noisy at peak times or during private events, so ask for a quiet table if you prefer a low-key meal.
