   The ambience is charming and the service friendly and efficient…the food just wasn’t that remarkable. We have long had an inconsistent customer experience at this establishment, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes merely average. This was disappointing for two reasons: we brought our omnivorous friends, and they found both their wine and meals average at best. As vegans, this place used to be the only game in town with their vegan menu, but it has stayed largely unchanged over the years while several new spots have begun to innovate and bring truly creative and exciting options to bear. Our meal was also just okay, and for those prices we feel they should do better.

   Terrible. So many great San Diego Italian restaurants and this one is a total dud. Food was marginal, for the price point and how great all the other local restaurants are, I had much higher expectations. Major pass.

   We took out of town guests here and we hoped it would be a winner. Sadly, it was just shy. One dish was oversalted. Requested a different meal to replace. The same meal was brought out and then that had to be replaced. Our poor guest had to eat on his own because the rest of us were done. Rock hard gelato was brought out and then another dessert was missed. I felt like we were not heard or the staff was too busy to be attentive. Sadly, our visit was not a huge hit.

   The new cannoli vegani is even better than the previous already great version they used to have! Antonio V was knowledgeable and super friendly. Great atmosphere in the heart of Little Italy

   Food quality and taste met the expectation. Extremely small menu for an Italian cuisine. Extremely very little Vegetarian options!! Service was exceptional and tidy slow. Overall good experience!! Have to try once!!

   The food was oversalted. My father had to send his dish back because it was inedible due to salt. He requested a bowl of plan pasta with marinara instead, which they accommodated. The service was fast and friendly, and they removed the dish from the bill.

    Civico is consistently good, which is something that is difficult to achieve for a restaurant.
