   The food was blah at best. The wait staff was all over the place bringing the wrong food to the wrong tables. Mimosas took forever to come and then when they did the orange juice had pulp.. who uses orange juice with pulp for Mimosas? My cousin's food was not what she ordered, and when she asked could it be cooked how she wanted it they said once it's served they can't take it back. How do I know it's messed up until it's served. Won't be going back.

   I called the restaurant to see if they had any availability. She immediately told me to go on OpenTable to make a reservation. I asked if they had any slots for this afternoon and she just advised to make a reservation. When we got there there were only five people in the restaurant and we did not get asked if we had a reservation. Our waiter just set us down. It wasn’t until after we got our waters when another lady came and asked if we had a reservation.. at that point why did it matter we were seated and the restaurant was empty. We ordered the soul rolls which were pretty good 7/10. I got the catfish and grits. The catfish was great 8.5/10 The grits were OK 6/10. The texture is not your typical grits especially if you are from the south  so if you do not like them Very thick and mushy and unseasoned, I would not suggest getting any grits dish. My friend ordered the grilled shrimp and grits her shrimp was overcooked, and she definitely did not care for the texture of the grits. We spoke with the waiter and asked if there could be a swap out for another dish & the result was they do not return any food that has been made they can try to remake it. We even asked if there was a sauce that could be used on the grits and we were only offered dipping sauces……. The drinks were weak and overpriced 3/10. The music was extremely loud for it to be a very intimate space on top of it not being anyone in there I would say the traffic speaks for itself. There was no accommodation made for my friend food being overcooked and being underwhelmed and no one came to even check to on how to make it better. Overall, it was a underwhelming experience.

   Walking in and being greeted by my server was very pleasant. I had a party of 7 arriving to celebrate my birthday and my server CJ was friendly and very upbeat. While I waited for my friends to arrive, I ordered a drink and hookah to start. The owner walked over and took my hookah order and then asked for payment. Apparently it’s separate from the food bill. I introduced myself and the owner wasn’t very pleasant or friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The food was good and the drinks were pretty good. I may come back to try something else but overall I’d give it 6/10. I’m all about vibes and the vibes weren’t all the way there. At least not for a brunch turn up. It’s more chill and relaxed and more appealing to an older crowd.

   Our experience at The Pretty Soul Kitchen was extremely disappointing. Despite having a reservation, the restaurant was unprepared for our arrival, holding seats for a party of 10 that was over 30 minutes late and never showed up. We ordered bottomless mimosas for our table of eight, but it took 40 minutes for the first drinks to arrive. After serving just two mimosas, the staff informed us they had run out of champagne and could no longer offer bottomless service. When we requested to simply pay for the one glass we received instead, they refused and insisted on charging us for the full bottomless price—even though they could no longer fulfill the offer. Instead of discussing the issue with us, the restaurant escalated the situation in the worst way possible. As we attempted to clarify our concerns, we looked up to find that they had called the police, falsely claiming we refused to pay. The manager refused to engage in a conversation to resolve the matter, and rather than addressing their own mistake, they chose to involve law enforcement. We made it clear that we were more than willing to pay for everything we actually received, but we were met with hostility instead of professionalism. The bartender, Shanelle, and cook, Brooke, were particularly confrontational. It’s deeply disappointing to experience such a lack of professionalism, customer service, and integrity—especially from a Black-owned establishment. The only bright spot of the visit was our server, who was courteous and just as confused by the situation as we were. However, this experience was a reminder that sometimes, the very businesses meant to serve our community can fail us the most. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone who expects to be treated with respect and dignity.

   The Vibe was just right. Great music, Great DJ, Amazing Waitress. The owner is so sweet and Most Importantly the FOOD DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Everything was amazing.

   Went in excited to have the smothered chicken and Mac and cheese. When the food came it looked great, but taking the first bite took me aback. It was so salty the chicken was tender but couldn’t enjoy it because it was so salty. The Mac and cheese again looked great but when taking a bite the noodles were overly cooked.

   Dined here with my Wife last night for Valentine’s Day. Key points: - They were not busy, which I see as a positive. A little telling, though, for 7:30 PM on valentine’s. - I’m not usually picky about this, but the food was too salty. Especially the greens. The catfish & crawfish etoufee was tasty but still too salty. Grits were a great texture and the only saving grace from the otherwise saltiness of my plate. - Sweet Tea cocktail was nice. - The cornbread was awful. - They didn’t bring out our appetizer. Ended up cancelling it halfway through our entree. Overall, we were disappointed. I don’t often leave bad reviews or even mid reviews. The atmosphere and ambiance were nice enough. Still can’t give this place more than 2 stars in good conscience. Hope this place can rebound and hire some help. Food: 2/5 | Service: 2/5 | Atmosphere: 3/5

    I took my daughter here for lunch just to try something new. We truly enjoyed our dining experience! Drinks were absolutely on point, I had a strawberry mojito that was strong and delicious! Good was soooooo good and tasted like it came straight outta grandmas kitcten! Flavorful, large portions, we will definitely be back!
