Our party did the leap of faith and it was SO FUN! It was so nice to not have to make any decisions, but also get a little bit of say into what we were feeling for eating. Truly, so fun and an INCREDIBLE amount of food!

If I came back here again, I'd still with a few smallplates and skip the entrees. All the small were fabulous - but the entrees were mediocre. And the bill for 2 with tip was $340 and we only ordered one cocktail between the 2 of us.

Outstanding flavors, can’t go wrong with the melt in your mouth wagyu steak and surprising caramelized sweet potato. Rum old fashion was a pleasant surprise! Oysters for appetizer will bring us back!

Thank you so much, Anne! The sweet potato is honestly one of our secret weapons! I'm so glad you had a good time with us, and I hope we see you again very soon!

Loved the leap of faith! Everything was phenomenal so it’s hard to pick a favorite. Some highlights were the oysters, the beef tar tar, the steak (I believe it was the picahna?) and the sweat potato! Service was lovely, and reminiscent of high end dining while being casual and not stuffy. Plates and silverware cleared and table wiped between courses, with just right timing. Really enjoyed our visit and will be back to try more!

FAQs

Brasero is open evenings: Tue–Thu and Sun 5:00 PM–9:00 PM; Fri–Sat 5:00 PM–10:00 PM. They also run a Happy Hour Tue–Sat 5:00 PM–7:00 PM and offer Sunday bar hours; Wednesday is wine night with bottle deals. Reservations are recommended for weekend evenings and special nights.

It depends on your goal: for deals and wine fun, go on Wednesday (wine night) or hit Happy Hour Tue–Sat 5–7 PM. For a quieter, more relaxed dinner, weekdays (Tue–Thu) or earlier evening slots are usually calmer. If you want the energetic weekend vibe, book Fri–Sat nights but expect it to be busy, reservations are strongly recommended.

Brasero offers a main dining room and bar seating; guests also reference a chef’s/hearth table and bar area for a more casual experience. The restaurant does not advertise private dining rooms, but they can accommodate larger parties (7+) with special large‑party menus, contact them in advance for arrangements.

Warm, lively and slightly sultry, Brasero is often described as dimly lit, chic and cozy with a high‑energy yet approachable vibe. Guests praise the thoughtful decor, comfortable seating and music level that usually allows conversation. On full nights it can be lively and a bit louder, which is part of the energetic dining experience many guests love.

Partly, Brasero welcomes families and guests celebrate birthdays and special occasions there, and staff frequently accommodate dietary needs. However, mobility access may be limited: at least one guest reported tight circulation for rollators/wheelchairs and advised caution. If accessibility or a stroller/walker is a concern, call ahead so the team can advise and help arrange appropriate seating.

Yes, Brasero is a popular choice for date night. Guests consistently call out the warm, dimly lit, sexy atmosphere, creative cocktails, and standout dishes like wagyu, branzino, grilled oysters and the coconut soft‑serve. The restaurant’s vibe is lively but intimate, making it great for celebrations or a romantic evening; dress is smart casual. For a quieter experience, consider a midweek reservation or an earlier seating on weekends.

Smart casual. Guests frequently wear date‑night and celebratory attire; the overall vibe is upscale‑casual so comfortable yet polished clothing fits well.

Portions are generally shareable and generous, Brasero encourages family‑style tasting and many guests say there’s plenty to share, often leaving leftovers. Sides and shareables (sweet potato, noodles, fried rice, oysters) are popular complements to the steaks and whole fish. A few guests noted Restaurant Week or certain tasting options felt smaller for the price, so if you want a full meal, consider ordering a couple of shareable plates plus a main to split.

It depends on what you want: go Wednesday for the wine deals (curated bottle offers) and good value, Sunday for a more relaxed bar/happy‑hour experience, or Tue–Thu for a quieter date‑night. If you want the full high‑energy scene, Friday and Saturday deliver the busiest, celebratory vibe.

Service animals are legally permitted, but for pet policies you should call ahead. Several guests report bringing their dog when dining outside, suggesting pets may be welcome on the patio; policies can change, so confirm with the restaurant when you reserve.

Busiest: Friday and Saturday evenings and special events (Restaurant Week, holidays). Quietest: weekday nights (Tue–Thu) and earlier evening seatings tend to be calmer. Guests also report midweek wine night and happy hour draw specific crowds, so plan accordingly depending on whether you want a lively night or a quieter meal.

Families do dine at Brasero and guests often celebrate birthdays with children and teens. The menu focuses on shareable small plates, steaks and seafood rather than a kids menu, but staff have been flexible with younger diners. If you’re bringing little ones, consider an earlier seating, let the restaurant know in advance, and plan to share plates that suit their tastes.

Yes, Brasero is approachable about special requests. Guests report the staff accommodating dietary restrictions (gluten‑free, vegan modifications) and celebratory touches like complimentary desserts for birthdays. For large parties or specific seating requests, email info@braserochicago.com or call (872) 342‑2079 in advance to coordinate.
