Japon provides a unique upscale experience. The Japanese drums blended with Middle eastern musical instruments stimulates the senses and invigorates one’s soul. Our waiter, Kris possesses a masterful skillset in the art of customer service and attention to detail.

We had an amazing time. We ordered the Toro, I wish I could have eaten a whole tray of it, delicious. We had the bone in ribeye, it was perfect, cooked to perfection, great presentation. And last we had the japon chicken karaage, the fried chicken was great, every bite was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. The service was attentive, friendly and kind. Overall we had a great date night, and I would absolutely come back.

Food was amazing, one of the better steaks I’ve had in recent history. Drinks were good. Live performing was cool. It was a Wednesday night and the service was painfully slow sadly.

FAQs

Families do dine at Japón and guests frequently celebrate birthdays and family occasions here. Seating options include indoor tables and courtyard/terrace spots where performances are visible, so you can choose a calmer indoor table if you prefer. Explicit accessibility details aren’t provided in the available information, so if you need wheelchair access or other accommodations, call ahead, staff have accommodated seating requests in many guest accounts.

Yes, Japón at The Setai is frequently recommended for date nights and special occasions. Guests praise the elegant, romantic decor, live entertainment (DJ and dancers), and attentive service that make evenings feel elevated. Note it’s an energetic, show-forward spot, so it can be loud; request an indoor table if you want a quieter, more intimate conversation. Expect a higher price point and smart-casual dress. For a memorable date, consider a sunset seating or reserving a table with a courtyard view of the performers.

Japón offers a mix of seating: an elegant indoor dining room, a sushi-bar/lounge area, and a covered outdoor courtyard/terrace that faces the fountain and live performances. Guests also mention a private dining room (reported to seat about 16) and banquette seating; some parties were moved between spaces depending on timing and capacity. If you have a seating preference (courtyard view for the show vs. quieter indoor dining), request it when you book.

Japón’s atmosphere is theatrical and lively, moody, upscale decor with a high-energy soundtrack, DJs, and scheduled dancers/performances that many guests call a highlight. It’s glamorous and social, excellent for celebrations and a night out, but can get quite loud (some guests say conversation is difficult). If you want a calmer evening, ask for an indoor table away from the courtyard or book an earlier weeknight seating.

The published hours list Japón as open daily from 5:00 pm–11:00 pm, which suggests the restaurant operates on most days of the year. For specific public holidays or special event closures, call the restaurant or check The Setai’s announcements to confirm, as holiday service and hours can vary.

The restaurant is open daily from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you’re planning around a show or busy night, consider an earlier seating; guests often recommend arriving early to enjoy the courtyard and sunset hours. For holiday hours or special events, call ahead to confirm.

If you want the full entertainment experience, a weekend evening is the best day, guests praise the vibrant shows and atmosphere then. For a calmer, more conversation-friendly experience, choose a weekday or an early dinner. Locals and reviewers also highlight sunset hours and Miami Spice offerings on select days as particularly good value and pleasant times to visit.

Busiest: weekend evenings and peak performance times when DJs and dancers are scheduled, these nights draw crowds and a lively party vibe. Quietest: early weeknights or earlier dinner seatings and the indoor dining room (away from the courtyard) tend to be more peaceful. If you prefer conversation over the show, request an indoor table or choose a weekday/early reservation.

Yes, Japón features covered outdoor seating in a courtyard/terrace area that overlooks the fountain and live performances. Guests frequently recommend sitting outside to enjoy the dancers and DJ; the space is described as comfortable and covered (with fans) for warm evenings. If you want to watch the show, request a courtyard table when you reserve.

Families and children do dine at Japón, and guests often celebrate birthdays and family gatherings here. The menu focuses on contemporary Japanese dishes and sushi rather than a kids’ menu, so younger children may be better suited to earlier seatings or shared plates. If you’re bringing kids, request seating away from the loudest performance areas or ask about menu flexibility when you reserve.

Portions at Japón tend to be moderate and are often presented in a refined, sharing-friendly way. Several guests noted smaller-than-expected main-course portions (for example, sea bass described as small) and that some sushi or specialty rolls feel modest for the price. That said, Miami Spice and sunset-hour menus were called generous and good value by many locals. If you’re sharing plates or want a fuller meal, plan to order multiple small plates or a few rolls and a main.

The dress code is Smart Casual. Guests note a mix of attire, some people arrive dressed very upscale while others come more casually, so Smart Casual is a safe choice. If you’re attending a special occasion or want to match the venue’s upscale vibe, leaning toward polished attire is recommended.

The best time depends on your priorities. For the full entertainment experience, dancers and DJ, book a weekend evening or a sunset/early-night seating in the courtyard. If you prefer a quieter dinner, request indoor seating or an earlier weeknight reservation. Many guests praise the Miami Spice and sunset-hour offerings for value, while others recommend arriving early to avoid waits and secure a good seat for the show.

Yes, call the restaurant ahead to request seating preferences (courtyard view, indoor table), dietary accommodations, or celebration arrangements. Many guests report staff accommodating seating changes and celebration touches, though service consistency has varied in some accounts, so calling in advance is wise. If you need allergy-safe or dairy/gluten-free options, ask the team directly so they can confirm what’s possible.

Yes, guests report an opulent private dining room (one review cites seating for about 16), and the venue also offers intimate indoor spaces separate from the lively courtyard. Owner-supplied details did not list private-party availability, so if private dining is important, call the restaurant to confirm room capacity, set menus, and booking rules.
