Established in 1997 Waraji has been offering an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi & authentic Japanese cuisine. We also feature a unique selection of Japanese microbrewery rice-based beers. Our sushi menu includes the highest quality sushi and sashimi including omakase, japanese uni, hirame, spanish bluefin, madai, king salmon, hamachi and a wide variety of specialty house rolls (Scary Jerry, Hinata, and The Sweet Dragon just to name a few) Our authentic kitchen offers a full menu of tempura, teriyaki grilled items, nabeyaki udon, katsudon, sukiyaki, shabu shabu hotpot, A5 wagyu, ishiyaki, chawanmushi, age nasu, gyudon. Chef Masa, with over 30 years of sushi experience, invites you to join him and his staff for a true taste of Japan.

Waraji added an Izakaya Lounge which has the largest Sake and Japanese Whiskey selection in the Carolinas. Also, we carry Japanese Beers such as Matcha IPA, Orion, Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi, and Echigo Koshihikari as well as a fine selection of wine.

Our food was excellent. Our server was attentive. We had a very nice dinner. It did get a little noisy, but I believe it was because everyone was having a good time around us. We would definitely return.

One of our favorite restaurants and we’ve been customers for many years. Yes, it was Friday night and we had a party of 8, but it took over 1.5 hours after we ordered to get our sushi.

Waited 1.5 hours for entree. Never had to wait that long before, but hadn't been since they expanded dinning room. Sushi is good, but not up to the quality of the previous owner.

The food is outstanding. My issue was that I booked a standard table under the dining section. I went to the restaurant and they said since I had booked in the previous 2 hours that they would have to seat me outside (it was raining). This was a bait and switch in my mind. They told me they over book. Luckily I was able to get a seat at the bar as I was not sitting outside when I booked a standard dining table.

It was very loud inside I could barely hear my server. Gyoza dipping sauce tasted like straight up sesame oil and the Kaaraage was dry little pieces of chicken. Meals and sushi were good and of course the server was nice.
