From the warm reception by the hostess Mindi to the attentive (but not cloyingly) service of our waiter, my son and I enjoyed a great meal and were able to catch up with each other. The ambiance was elevated but also relaxed. We were able to converse easily as the restaurant sound was that of a hum, not loud and abrasive. The best thing I ate was the caramelized onion soup. My son had the burger and really enjoyed it. I had oysters, salad with crab, a cocktail and sourdough bread. So good!

The service was poor. We had to go out of our way to track down servers to (1) order our food, (2) to get a second cup of coffee because they brought one when we ordered two, (3) for each refill we had to flag down servers after several walked by avoiding our eye contact and raised hands like we had the plague, and (4) to get our check. It was surprising to get over toasted English muffins and under toasted bread neither of which had any butter or offer to bring butter. The chicken sausages were dry and underwhelming. The eggs and potatoes were spot on though. For a $32 breakfast it ate like an $18 special. I will not be going back as the value is simply not there. If the service would have been spot on, I might be encouraged to return for another try, but this was simply not a service I am willing to pay for. My wife did enjoy her green juice as that was the surprise of the meal. It was tasty and flavorful. I hope the staff brings the attention to detail to others because it was lacking for us.

What a lovely dining experience. The beef tenderloins were incredible and the raw oysters were exemplary. This is a beautiful restaurant and the service is top notch. If you stay in Seattle this is a place you do not want to miss.

I keep making the same mistake every few years—I return hoping the experience has improved because the venue itself is truly beautiful. The restaurant is housed in a stunning historic building with so much character and potential, but unfortunately, the service continues to disappoint. Upon arrival, there were three employees at the reception engaged in conversation with each other while guests waited without acknowledgment. Throughout the meal, it appeared that a single server was responsible for much of the dining room, while several other staff members seemed either new, inadequately trained, or simply lacking proper supervision. The food was average at best and did not reflect the history, elegance, or prestige of the building or the restaurant. There was nothing memorable or distinctive about the dining experience. The underlying issue seems to be management—or the lack of it. The service, staffing, and overall execution suggest a restaurant that is poorly managed, despite being located in one of the city’s most beautiful historic properties. It’s truly a shame. A venue with this much history and charm deserves a dining experience that matches its surroundings.

Our best night of 7 by far, on vacay in Seattle. Our waiter was kind, had excellent recs and even went out of his way to create a custom vegetarian dish for me. Artichoke heart dish, best I've had - better than when in Italy. Husband had scallops and said it was his best meal here. Drinks were perfect, space is elegant and beautiful. Thank you to the George!
