   Pros: The hotel ballroom was decorated beautifully and the staff was very friendly, but only 2-3 servers for a large room. Cons: We arrived at 11:30, they were serving until 3:00. There were only two plates on the buffet, had to ask for more. Home fries were burnt, eggs and sausage cold, slabs of ham were dried out and tough, sausage and biscuits with gravy was dry and tasteless. No carving stations, very poor selection overall. Croissants and muffins on the table were stale. Specialty non alcoholic drinks were small and served in plastic glasses. ($7) Charged extra for coffee and tea. Took the server three tries to get the bills straight among three parties. At $42 a person, plus a surprise charge of 22% gratuity (for servers who just brought drinks), this was a real ripoff. For our party of 3 it was $214. We have eaten at the restaurant portion of the hotel in the past and it was always very professional and top notch. We heard subsequently that the chef, who had been there several years, left. It is sad to see such a beautifully restored historic hotel and restaurant put on an embarrassing presentation for Easter. If you don’t have enough service and kitchen staff, don’t try to skate by. In the restaurant business it doesn’t take many events like this to damage your reputation.

   Hi Don, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m truly sorry we missed the mark for you, especially on such an important holiday. We worked hard to keep plates stocked and food fresh throughout service, and our current chef, who has been successfully producing these events for quite some time, led the team for Easter. Beverage pricing was listed separately to allow guests flexibility in their choices, and the 22% gratuity was shared among the entire front and back of house teams — from servers and chefs to dishwashers.    Excellent food and service (Easter Brunch). The attention to detail was outstanding. I especially loved how welcoming everyone was to our kids!

   Great idea to have a comedy show at this location. It was definitely different from a standard comedy venue. I wish more people in the community came but it was quite intimate this way which was also nice. Besides our server forgetting our drinks often and trying to charge me for drinks I did not get, I'd highly recommend going to their events. Their food is always amazing.

   Great experience. This restaurant is a jewel in Orleans County. The atmosphere was awesome, a piano player was performing and the décor is beautiful. The menu is limited, but the food was excellent and unique. Absolutely recommend as a must go!

   Fourth time dining at Harvest. ALWAYS good! Very beautiful place. Food is excellent and although choices somewhat limited, everything is done right—real food, nothing showy or fussy, but it’s impressive and rich enough to be very satisfying. Meals are paced quite slowly but that is also correct for a good place to dine and relax/chat. By the way, bathrooms are superb—which is actually rare even in some superior and very expensive places! Open kitchen looks well run and professional, almost too good to be true, but what I see and what I eat are certainly well worth the drive and the cost. Go there!!!!

   I really wanted to like this more but it just missed the mark. They were out of an entree that we wanted and then out of the wine we wanted. With such a limited menu already, it didn’t leave much to pick from. The server seemed to be making excuses for that rather than making suggestions confidently for something else we might enjoy. It kind of deflated our sails. The service was incredibly slow despite being pretty empty for a Friday night. We helped ourselves to our own coats from the coat check because there wasn’t anyone to help us and frankly we were sick of waiting for every little thing… That said, the food and drinks were decent. The cherry Manhattan was good and the bison ribs were tasty. The ambiance was nice. It just wasn’t worth the drive or the price.

   Our entire meal from start to finish was fantastic! From the presentation to the taste and quality-top notch! Service was excellent too and the drinks so artistic and delicious! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
