We offer a true dining experience that will make any meal a 'special occasion'. We also offer private rooms and banquet facilities for your special event needs.

“Giovanni’s on the Hill has always been the standard here for service, food and atmosphere,” says Joe Bonwich, restaurant critic for the St. Louis Post Dispatch. “It’s the whole package for high-end Italian dining: table side preparation, waiters in formal attire, a place to go for a memorable occasion. The food was pretty good. However, the atmosphere was terrible. They didn't even have background music. Our waiter gave off the impression that we were an inconvenience. He wasn't very friendly and didn't come around very often, which left us waiting long periods of time to place orders and request the check. We probably won't be returning.

Don't go on a busy night. We went on a Sat night, and our reservation didn't matter. Our food took a really long time. We could overhear many of the verbal arguments going on among the servers and bussers, and could feel the tension, so obviously the night wasn't going smoothly in the restaurant. It's really overpriced food, also. The service was good, otherwise, though. Funny server.

We had reservations for 2 @ 7p.m. We felt like sardines packed in to the non- existent waiting area. We finally got a table at 8 p.m. We didn't receive our food until 9 p.m. after we watched it sit there in pans by our table for 10 minutes. The food was lukewarm and swimming in olive oil. This was a terrible e experience.

This was our first time here and we loved it from the time we arrived till we left. Enjoyed the "special" treatment and attention. Thank you for making our experience do memorable....

This place feels old school. Waiters in full formal ware, low lighting, classical art. Felt a bit out of place, because they knew and I knew that I was not rich enough to afford dinner here. But they weren't really rude. Just stiff. My friend and I were prepared for that so we laughed about it and enjoyed ourselves all the same. I had the NY strip steak, medium rare. Best steak I've had in a long time, cooked perfectly. So tender and juicy. The vegetables were fine, al dented with a sort of lemon butter sauce. Interesting flavor with the red meat but I enjoyed it. Overall I enjoyed the experience but I don't think it will become my new favorite. Great for a very special occasion.

Delicious food, wonderful staff that was extremely attentive. Great menu. We will definitely return and recommend it!
