About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for fine wines
  • Lively
Rails Steakhouse is a modern American steakhouse offering carefully selected USDA Prime and CAB corn-fed beef, dry-aged a minimum of 28 days on-premise & hand-cut daily. We offer modern and contemporary dishes, including sustainable fresh seafood, homemade desserts, and an award-winning wine list recognized by Wine Spectator.

Attention to detail can be seen in this beautiful 20,000 sq. ft., restaurant where sprawling timber meets natural stonewalls, accents of glass showcase fire-and-water features in this luxe lodge. While all levels feature the same menu, the main dining room has a more sophisticated ambiance and Rafters on the second floor has a more casual lodge appeal. Descend to the lower level to find the secret passage that takes you to the wine cave, and Thirty 3, a speakeasy-style bar and lounge. Dine al fresco on our outdoor terraces offering spectacular views of the Pyramid Mountains. Most importantly, we want you to feel at home where our hospitality is second to none.

  • Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Dinner

    $150.00 per person

    May 20, 2025 only
Considered one of the "first growths" of Napa Valley, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars produces renowned Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic Stags Leap District estate vineyards. Founded in 1970, the winery brought international recognition to California winemaking and the Napa Valley when the 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon wone the now famous 1976 Paris Tasting, also known as the "Judgment of Paris." Stag's Leap Wine Cellars' three estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignons - CASK 23, S.L.V. and Fay - are among the most highly regarded and collected Cabernet Sauvignons worldwide. The wines are fashioned to express richness balanced by elegant restraint, an approach often described as "an iron fist in a velvet glove." We will be pouring these legendary wines with a menu to follow shortly: - 2023 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Chardonnay - 2020 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Petite Sirah - 2021 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon - 2020 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars 'The Leap' Cabernet Sauvignon The four course menu is priced at $150 per person, tax and gratuity not included. Seating is limited.

My reservation was noted that we were celebrating my Grandson's birthday and I brought a balloon to put on our table and a cake with my name written on the box that was given to the host when we arrived. When my server, Rose, arrived at our Table 239/l to take our order, I told her on the side that it was my Grandson's birthday and I brought a cake. She nodded in acknowledgement. After our dinner was finished, we waited for the cake with the candles I had brought to be brought to our table so we could sing happy birthday to my Grandson, but it didn't arrive. At 6:15 pm Rose, our server, announced that other diners would need to be seated at our table at 6:45 pm so we had only 30 minutes to order our dessert, eat it and vacate the table. Rose, our server, seemed clueless about the cake I had already told her about and it ruined the surprise for my Grandson and ultimately rushed us through singing happy birthday and eating the cake. In addition, myself and two others in our party ordered the Organic Scottish Salmon and we all got sick after arriving home and had to take over-the-counter stomach medication to relieve the extreme discomfort. To summarize, it was a very unpleasant dining experience at Rails Steakhouse on April 20, 2025 and I did not get value for the $467.02 paid for the dinner (Check # 2860).

"Energetic" is a bit of a euphemism for a restaurant such as Rails. It is a very large, cavernous space and the noise level is exceptionally high. With a large number of people in a very open and large spce with very high ceilings, sound carries to extreme levels and it was often hard to hear our server as well as each other. The food is good, not great. Some of the dishes were better than others. The gorgonzola potato side was excellent as was the onion soup. The steak was decent but not of the quality of a classic steakhouse. The desserts were good but all were very "heavy" both in texture and content. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive and quickly corrected an order that was not prepared per our allergy requirements.

Beautiful restaurant, excellent service & delicious food. Fine dining at its best for a special occasion. We dined on fried calamari, grilled octopus, filet mignon & sides. Cappuccinos & the cake slices are large enough to feed 4 people!

Very honestly, we were disappointed with the dry aged NY strip for 2. The stuffed shrimp were outstanding. Everything else is lovely about the restaurant.

Just an OK experience, mainly due to the treatment we received from our waitress. Went there for a birthday celebration for my husband and were given the wrong specials, only to order one and find out 20 minutes later it’s not a special of the night. No problem, so he ordered something else. The food was good, the waitress was less than attentive but we were still enjoying the meal. When dessert and coffees were done we requested the check and waited almost 30 minutes for the waitress to come with the bill. My MIL ended up walking up to her at the computer to beg for the check so we could leave and put our baby down. Without reviewing the check she charged us for both the special they didn’t have and the replacement meal my husband ordered instead so another $60 on the bill. We paid, tipped and left before realizing. I then went back to have the bill adjusted and felt the management didn’t seem to be overly apologetic for the overcharge. Initially they wanted to refund me the extra plate we received but I requested the void the initial bill and re-run the card so I could adjust the tip accordingly. They were happy to do so, but for this level of dining experience why did I feel like their intention is to take advantage of people? I didn’t appreciate the lack of professionalism the waitress had, nor the minimal apology from the manager. Likely won’t return as there are similar steakhouses with better trained staff in the area that. Be sure to double check the bill!

It was a good experience, but not the best that I've ever had. At the high prices, I don't need to go again. Maybe happy hour.
