   Second visit to the suburban New Orleans outpost of Oaxacan food. Excellent food, with subtle treatments of plastic dishes, and a bright, convivial ambience.

   Food is always interesting a delicious! Service is on spot - friendly and prompt. One of my favorites and regular go-tos.

   I love this place. I was there a year ago and the food was sooooo good. I absolutely loved it. I ate there last weekend and I was disappointed. The food seemed much more mediocre. My food was room temperature and bland. It did not seem special at all. The drinks were good and the corn riblets are to die for. In general the quality of the food was lackluster this time. I was married in Oaxaca and Zocalo had become our anniversary spot because the food was so good. I will pick a different restaurant next year.

   Love this restaurant and think they're on to something great. They have a very interesting menu - food & drinks - executed very well. A few hiccups here and there during service, but overall this is a place we enjoy. We'll be back for sure.

   This is the second time coming to this restaurant. We love the location and the vibe. The bar has a great cocktail menu and this last time, I tried the Margo-Rita, named for the bartender Margo as she said it was her special recipe.....and it didn’t disappoint. The food is very very good. This second visit also gave us a totally new menu as well. The only thing that they need to work on is the service. The servers were very nice and attentive, but it took a really long time for the kitchen to have our food out. But, we will still be back! The Mexican Pizza, fried corn ribs, chicken tortilla soup, and the diablo shrimp were all spot on!

   This was not our first visit but it was the first time ordering the frozen margaritas. They were fantastic!! Perfect consistency and delicious! The food was great, hot, very fresh and well seasoned. My only complaint is that the steak on my Mexican pizza was a bit too grisly for my liking but some people prefer that. I’ll just order chicken next time because that thing was awesome! The staff is friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Zocalo is a casual setting with awesome food, drinks and service! Can’t wait to return♥️

    I attempted to handle this situation privately through email with management; however, no one ever responded to my concerns. My husband and I sat at the bar one evening a couple of weeks ago, and we had several concerns about the cleanliness of the bar area and how the food/drinks were being handled. The bartender was slicing cucumbers on the mandolin on the cutting board at the end of the bar and putting them in glasses for cocktails. During this time, she was getting the bill for patrons, swiping credit cards, and also on her cell phone, all without washing her hands once. One customer came in for a pickup order and when she went to retrieve it from the back, she even left her cell phone on the cutting board touching the cucumbers. I feel like cleanliness should be a priority, and it didn't seem to be here. I was also concerned that management didn't respond to my email that was informing them of the situation.
