Every bite? Pure delight! We felt like we were the most important people in the room… Our server was “as professional, of a fine dining server that we could have asked for!” Bravo Zinc…

We were greeted at the door, service was excellent, bumped into friends and enjoyed a delicious meal before a show at the shubert.

The meal was, frankly, abysmal—utterly mediocre at best. The mussels, admittedly, were well-prepared, a fleeting triumph before the decline. The second course, however, was a disaster: rice stubbornly undercooked, shrimp inexplicably laborious to eat. Only the dessert—a sublime almond cake—offered redemption. Yet these scant delights were overshadowed by farcical mishaps. A busboy, in a feat of spectacular clumsiness, upended water across my person, the table, and the floor. The staff’s response? Half-hearted at best. They attended to the flooded floor but left the table—and me—soaked for the duration of the meal. No napkins materialized; no apologies, either. A shockingly inept performance, rendering the entire experience an exercise in frustration. That the almond cake and mussels shone so brightly only underscores what this restaurant could be—were it not sabotaged by its own staggering neglect.

VERY disappointed that perennial favorites duck nachos and Saigon beef were no longer on the menu. The humus and red pepper purée were good. The steak was very good. The duck tostados were just plain terrible. The staff, however, were wonderful as always.

Haven’t been to Zinc in years but so happy we lunched there today. Zinc is outstanding dining in New Haven! We enjoyed the entire meal but give high marks on the Duck Tostada which was simply amazing. Also the Olive Oil Lemon cake was a wonderful light finish to a divine meal. Service was terrific.

We were in New Haven for the night and checked OpenTable for a restaurant for dinner. We chose Zinc from among those listed and were very pleased we did. The food was terrific and except for a slip near the end (a cappuccino was brought to the wrong table), the service was excellent. Highly recommended for a special evening.
