Enjoyed happy hour! Food was tasty and even if the menu is fairly small there was something for everyone. Can’t get any better than the service. Staff was over and beyond kind and friendly

Corn appetizer was good. Wagyu skewer had too much salt and was like eating a piece of fat from a regular steak. I was hoping for something similar to the Wagyu I had recently in Japan. Chicken skewer had a tad bit too much wasabi(radish?) on it for my taste. I now think I’ve experienced actual wasabi and it’s a very different experience. Also tried the eel over rice. Although the eel itself was good, the sauce overwhelmed the dish for me. Not sure if it was too much sauce or just the richness of it. Rice helped with the sauce. Overall what you order may be hit or miss but I may not revisit as quality did not justify the price.. at least during my first experience there.

Everything was good. My only beef was that the draft beer was a little too pricey.

Yummy! Even our very picky 12 years old love this place. I was so glad we came across this restaurant in China Town in Hawaii! Definitely will plan another visit!

My husband and I both loved our dinner at Yakitori Hachi Bei despite the fact we thought we were going for sushi and ended up with a 11 course Japanese dinner. No sushi at Yakitori BUT a most delicious, authentic Japanese dinner. Yes, we will go back.

The name of restaurant is “Yakitori Hachibei” but they do not have great variety of chickens. Beef and pork were greasy. I like sukiyaki but do not expect to eat sukiyaki at yakitori restaurant. Also, sukiyaki beef was braised with egg yolk. They need to ask if it’s ok since not all people are ok with row egg. Restaurant looks good and loved to see grill at the counter kitchen. Service was fine. Just disappointed since we had only a few chicken yakitori among omakase course.
