   Ate at Yaalu Yalu as part of a group of six old friends on a Friday evening and really enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious, with a range of spiciness to suit all palates (although an indication of spicing levels on the menu would be helpful). Particular highlights of our visit were the devilled prawn and Namaste starters and the lamb and goat mains, but we all chose different things and none of us was disappointed. Service was very good - friendly, helpful and efficient. We'll definitely be back.

   Food is awsome. Tasty and Delicious. Very authentic. I am a vegetarian , but felt the same bt my Non Veg eating friends. Overall we enjoyed the evening.

   Lovely local restaurant. Good food, many options on the menu, including vegetarian. Wednesday night there was a special offer of two main courses and a bottle of house wine for just £25. If you haven't been, you must!

   Apparently the restaurant did not receive our booking through open table and were unable to honour the booking. The experience was humiliating and disappointing for us all. What is the point in booking through open table if the restaurants allege they do not receive the booking?

   Authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, ingredients and presentation. We visited here for a birthday dinner with family after I'd eaten there before with a friend. There's spicy dishes as well as milder ones so it caters to all. The wild boar curry was incredible, you can tell the food is cooked with great care and dedication. We'll be back.

   Having read that Yaalu Yalu was rated top 10 in Croydon, my friends and I decided to try it out. Not the usual Indian menu or dishes that we recognised, but 'Sri Lankan'. Not disappointed- very tasty and quite spicy meat and prawn main dishes, nicely presented on a banana leaf platter. The different curries were delicious, flavourful and good sized portions. The only dish I was not so keen on was the Lentil side dish, which was a bit bland and watery. Service was excellent and helpful. Possibly a more exotic decor would make the venue more exciting but the rustic look was fine.

   We have booked the table last minute on a weekday night and wanted to book a table on short notice. Dispite there was only one open table review which not a good one we decided to book Yaalu Yalu, ohh my my I am so glad we did that. Not only we fould a great restaurant only 20 minutes drive from mine we have made an amazing discovery in to Sri Lankan cousin. Later we looked at the reviews writen on other sites about this restaurant only to realised the negative review on open table seems very misleading and we were really lucky not to miss out this local gem. We ll be there many more times to try every dish on their menu.

   The table I have booked through open table wasn't booked when we have arrived to the restaurant for surprise birthday party. Uncomfortable was an understatement. Girls said that they have no spare tables and then suggested to wait for a boss just to get something like a wowcher. Seeing how upset I was they accommodated the table with time limit to leave before other guests would come. My food was undercooked and meat cold inside but didn't want to upset the guests even more so said nothing and left without eating. At least the guests enjoyed their food and couple of drinks was compensated by the restaurant as well as one birthday cake for my husband. Thanks for the girls. But our night was rushed which will result in us not coming back or recommending this restaurant to anyone.
