Xiquet (chee-KETT) by Chef Danny Lledó features a sought-after tasting menu showcasing the finest products from around the world served with warm, Mediterranean hospitality. Known as one of the best fine dining restaurants in Washington DC for its modern Spanish cuisine, Xiquet has held a MICHELIN Star since 2021 and earned MICHELIN’s Sommelier of the Year Award in 2022. In the same year, AAA honored Xiquet with the travel authority’s highest rating, making it the only Five Diamond restaurant currently in the city. Recently, in 2023, the DC Restaurant Association awarded Xiquet with the RAMMY of Best Formal Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year.

    We just had the pleasure of experiencing the tasting menu at Xiquet, and it was an unforgettable culinary journey. From the appetizers to the last little candies at the end was an exceptional experience The staff's warm hospitality made me feel instantly welcome. Each course was a work of art, showcasing the vibrant flavors of Valencia with a modern twist. The dishes were expertly prepared, highlighting the high-quality ingredients and the chef's meticulous attention to detail. The smoky notes from the wood-fired kitchen added a unique depth to the cuisine.     Came for the first time recently and was so impressed, I had to come back to try the new spring menu - and wow, it did not disappoint! Each course just kept getting better and better - creative, beautifully presented and full of flavor. And the wine pairings were spot on. The lamb is unexpectedly amazing - a standout and the Japanese wagyu was nothing short of spectacular. Chef Danny's attention to detail and genuine care for his diners really shows. The professionalism and warm hospitality was consistent each time, making the visit feel very special.

    I haven’t been back to Xiquet in a while and I must say that the experience was phenomenal. The food keeps getting more innovative, beautiful, flavorful, and fun with all the new playing cards. Chef Danny’s attention to detail and care for his diners shows when he came to talk to us for a bit, but did the same for the rest of the tables. Next time I won’t wait as long to go back.

    A disappointing experience. Went there for my wife’s birthday. We told them we didn’t eat squab in advance (my wife's pet growing up was a pigeon), which they confirmed when we arrived. They then served us the squab and we had to stop them before they could prep it at the table. There are premium food (for one or two courses) and drink options, beyond standard wine pairings, which the server asks about at the table, which felt like pressure to me. Additionally, a neighboring table had the birthday they were there for celebrated and nothing for ours. We felt like an afterthought. Just wasn’t the special evening I’d hoped it would be. Update: Danny reached out to me after I posted this, which I appreciated. Seems like a good guy who's working very hard to keep his restaurant great.

    Wow! What an evening, from the intricately detailed small bites, incredible paella, and exquisite desserts. We had an incredible night we won’t soon forget. This was a treasured way to share an anniversary!

    We got to enjoy the first day on the new menu of the Spring, and it was breathtaking! We have been to Xiquet, and it just keeps getting better and better. The intensity of the food flavors were unparalleled, and of course the professionalism and the hospitality are solid per usual. Xiquet is a very strong recommendation for anyone looking for excellence is Spanish cuisine and dining.

    Danny and his crew excel. The tasting menu was beautifully prepared and presented. I always admire the creativity with indredients and how amazing it is to see it coming to fruition. We also paired the experience with wines. All of them wonderful. It is not our first time and we travel from Miami for this (being myself from the same region of Spain as Danny, I really appreciate how he elevates our food to heavens). Will be back. PS. great meeting new friends while there!

    Really a fantastic experience. All the food was delicious. The story told with each dish was so cool. I really enjoyed reading the chef’s notes while eating each course. The whole team was extremely hospitable and being greeted by Chef Lledó was a very nice surprise. However, as other reviews have stated, the final two courses downstairs felt rushed. I was given the check and told to have a nice night in the middle of my final courses. Outside of this it was truly a wonderful dining experience. I will absolutely come back, but I do hope the service for the desert courses is adjusted.
