We're SO excited to host Chef Evan Funke & his crew from Felix Trattoria (Motherwolf & Funke) in Portland for a two-night, guest chef dinner. Evan Funke is a custodian of Italian tradition and a master of the old world techniques of handmade pasta. The two-time James Beard-nominated chef brings more than two decades of excellence to his critically acclaimed restaurants – Funke in Beverly Hills; Mother Wolf in Hollywood, Las Vegas at the Fontainebleau Hotel, and Miami's Design District; Felix on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice; and Tre Dita at the St. Regis Hotel in Chicago. Featured in Netflix’s Chef’s Table: Noodles and the acclaimed docuseries Shape of Pasta, Funke’s culinary storytelling extends to his award-winning cookbook, American Sfoglino. Notably, Funke has been the featured chef for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party since 2022. If you didn't already know, Louis was Chef Evan's chef de cuisine at Felix Trattoria before moving here to Portland and, most importantly, Evan is Louis greatest mentor; it's so, so special for us to have them cooking together again! In Chef Evan's words, “We bring the pasta and you do the sauce work!”. The menu will be a true collaboration and could only be experienced at this dinner. Tickets will go live Tuesday, April 8th at 10am! Call your friends, make your plans, & be ready to snag tickets for this dinner. Here's what you need to know: Dinner will be a $135/person 5-course tasting menu (excluding 20% gratuity, beverages, & supplements).  An optional $65/person beverage pairing and our full beverage menu will be available. We will have a strict cancellation policy in place. Tickets for this dinner are NON-REFUNDABLE. Reservations cancelled by Tuesday, April 22nd will receive a gift card in the amount of the purchase to use at Xiao Ye. Reservations cancelled after Tuesday, April 22nd and no shows will not receive a gift card. We will not be able to accommodate any allergies EXCEPT nut allergies. We had such a great time at Xiao Ye. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel right at home—super friendly and genuinely attentive in a way that made the whole night feel easy and fun. We tried a bunch of dishes and honestly couldn’t pick a favorite. The pasta was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the drink list was thoughtful and full of gems, and those madeleines? Next level. Warm, soft, golden-edged perfection. Also, don’t sleep on the Broccoli Caesar—it’s not your average Caesar salad. It’s crunchy, bold, and totally unexpected in the best way. Xiao Ye feels like the kind of neighborhood gem you want to tell all your friends about, while also setting the bar for what modern Portland dining can be. Can’t wait to go back.

Enjoyed dinner at this very special restaurant last night, together with my wife. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was. Friendly and welcoming staff, a warm inviting space, and food that is some of the best I’ve ever had. Every single plate that was placed on our table was done so with care and intention. The Beef Carpaccio tostada was out of this world, I can’t even describe how great the Broccoli Caesar salad was, and the Chicken Curry I will never forget. And lastly, the Gelato…😋 This is our new Date Night go-to. Portland noshing at the highest level. Oh, and the working owners are the kindest, most dedicated people. Highly recommended dining!

This was the third time I’ve dined here. The food and service are exceptional …BUT, I won’t return until the menu changes. Same menu for last several months. To be competitive in Portland you need to have changing flavors and dishes. The * really* fine places show that the chef is not a “one trick pony.”

They’ve created an environment with a great vibe and friendly professional service. The food was innovative, but not gimmicky. It’ll be hard to pick a stand out dish because it was all very solid. We enjoyed it as a party of three but would like to go back with a larger party in the future
