   Incredible first visit! Celebrating an anniversary and the staff went above & beyond. A little “happy anniversary” placard, champagne, well wishes from multiple employees and then orcas!!! swimming by made for an unforgettable experience. The food was amazing, also.

   We had an 8:30 reservation on a beautiful Friday night. When we arrived, the parking lot was full, but there were still a few open spots. We went inside and waited just a couple of minutes for the hostess to find the reservation and take us to the table. We were right at a window at the back, so we had a stunning view of the sunset over the water. The space is bright and modern, and the sounds of chatter and dishes were pleasant. Interesting that there was NO music playing. The hostess was very friendly and briefly chatted with us. From then, we had excellent service that did not relent. First water with tasty seasoned edamame, then drinks, then our server came to explain the menu and make his recommendations. We wanted to try as many things as possible, so we had lots of questions. Appetizers were out in less than 10 minutes, each one was delicious and unexpected. We had the shiso tuna roll, the crispy Brussels sprouts, the kale salad, and the fry bread with artichoke dip. Nice to know the fry bread is fried in vegetable oil rather than the traditional lard. Every dish was fresh, and delicious. The Brussels were my favorite. The tuna roll was my wife’s. For main dishes, we ordered the famous and popular black cod, the rich lamb ragout with pasta, the grilled halibut with fries, and the wild mushroom pasta. The dishes were all delicious, the portions were large, the fish was tender and not at all ‘fishy’ but the lamb got a little oily. The flavors are very interesting, not what you expect, not quite Asian, but more complex than the usual northwest fare. By 9 the restaurant was nearly empty. We didn’t get to sit at the bar, but it looks great too!

   We booked this on a whim, not knowing much about the restaurant beforehand, but the food pictures online looked great. It exceeded any expectations we could have made. The atmosphere and restaurant were spacious and serene. The food and drinks were so good, we’re already thinking about when we can go back. Definitely try the spinach crab dip with fry bread! And the pillows appetizer was delicious. Would strongly recommend to anyone interested.

   Great experience at a beautiful waterfront location. Excellent service. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We both had steak. My husband's was a perfect medium rare ribeye. Mine was supposed to be very rare (blue+, I think they called it) and was unevenly cooked--rare to medium--New York steak. This was the only downside. I chose to keep it rather than wait for another to be re-fired. Despite my steak we will be coming back for more goodies on the menu that we want to try. Oh, and another pannacotta for dessert--it was delicious!

   We were seated in a table for two alongside a sliding glass wall that gave us a terrific view of Commencement Bay. We each had a house-inspired cocktail; they were both unique and very tasty. We shared an appetizer (wings), which also was uniquely flavored and delicious; there were four full wings in the serving, perfect for sharing. A finger bowl afterward would have been helpful. I had the Miso Cod, which was properly cooked, nicely presented and delicious. With this meal I had a glass of a very good quality NZ Sauvignon Blanc. My spouse had a piece of beef served with butter sauce on the side; it was properly cooked to her request and was delicious. We decided to share a dessert, a house creation called flan layer cake; it was a large enough piece for sharing and again was delicious. Service was attentive with multiple people assigned to various tasks (such as delivering food and beverages, clearing the table, bringing fresh tableware, serving water, etc). It was a leisurely paced meal; total time spent here was just under 2 hours. This was our first visit to Woven and we certainly plan to return.

   Absolutely fabulous dining experience from start to finish! All waitstaff were stellar as well....the best experience I have had on the Tacoma waterfront in 20 years. You created a magical meal for my friend's birthday. Thank you.

   Our only complaint was that there was only that the appetizer dip only came with a single piece of fry bread. Otherwise, the drinks and food were spectacular and the service was wonderful.
