   I've been here a few times and at first it was okay but it's really gone downhill! The staff is just alright, the kitchen was very rowdy and distracting. The food quality has really decreased, and no longer tastes fresh but prices have gone up. Took a very long time to get our food. At night it's too dark to even read the menu.

   We went for Sunday brunch this weekend. Avocado toast is my go to favorite, but not this time. First of all, the avocado TOAST was not toasted, so it was a limp, bland base for the avocado/feta spread. The avocado was the consistency of pureed baby food, no reassuring chunks of avocado. All told, this was the worst avocado toast i ever had. The pancakes with "fruit" came with a few syrupy slices of banana, not a berry or any other fruit in sight. As for the service, i had to ask for coffee several times, and a refill was never offered. When the check came, there were several errors, which i ignored in my haste to exit. Oh yes, the complementary popcorn when we fist sat down was superfluous and cold.

   One of the most comfortable and reliable places to eat in Ridgewood. been there many times and it is excellent.

   The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve ever had! The candied walnuts make a huge difference. It’s also hard to find a place that can cook a NY strip well done without destroying it. My husband said the grits were a bit bland, but overall the food was delicious and the service excellent. Our daughter had a kids pizza. It was the perfect size and definitely homemade, not your typical frozen kids meal. The lava cake dessert looked great (I didn’t indulge). Being a BYO makes it a great overall value for Ridgewood.
