   Not like it used to be ....alas this used to be a really good foody pub. Needs more investment (again).

   Booked for five for lunch. Given it was a Sunday, we were surprised that the dining room was empty apart from two other tables. Things started well, served by a personable young man wearing sports gear who took our drinks and food orders. Lunch took about 30 minutes to arrive, a couple of the party had opted for roast beef and were disappointed only to receive 2 slices each, but the other meals were of a good size and quality. No one checked back to see if everything was okay with our food, and the plates sat waiting to be cleared for a good 25 minutes, at which point we were told that they would be back to take the desert and coffee orders, but no one came. After 30 minutes we cut our losses and I went and asked for the bill from the bar. We decided to pay the discretionary 12.5% service added to the bill even though it hadn’t really been earned. Not sure I’d recommend.

   I went with my teen son, to celebrate my birthday. We had the evening 3 course meal offer for £22,50. Everything was brought in time, hot, looking very good and tasting amazing. The service was excellent. Thank you very much we enjoyed very much, we will be back soon.

   The food was prepared well, it would be a really nice place to come in the summer. Very limited parking. A good range of food and drinks.

   First time I’ve eaten at The White Horse. The staff were very friendly, food was nice and hot. Would definitely go again

   To many people or not enough Chef’s Roast potatoes and parsnips were served before they were cooked. Maybe on another day when the pub is not rammed it will be different. Service was good. Pam Kemp

   We visited The White Horse pub on a number of occasions, as we really like the overall ambience. I decided to treat my wife and I to a festive meal. We ordered drinks, and the main course was brought out. It only came to mind later, but they did not ask how I wanted my steak. I was going to wait a little while for the pudding, but when I visited the toilet and came back, the pudding was there. The food was wonderful, and even though I have highlighted some issues, we will be going back

   We’ve not been to the white horse for a long time and we won’t sadly be returning. We waited over an hour for our food and then when it came they had forgotten part of the order. The staff were incredibly apologetic and we did have money knocked off our bill. What was unforgivable though was the standard of the food when it arrived. Parsnips were inedible, beef was dry, potatoes were hard. The chicken was decent and our son liked his chicken nuggets.

   Sunday lunch wasn't good, beef was extremely tough, 2 diners didn't eat there's and asked to take it home for the dog. Also, really basic things like ashtrays overflowing and glasses left out from the night before. Toilet roll not put into the dispenser, just left on the side. Basic hospitality just not done, a real shame as this pub used to be great. Lovely waitresses, but to be reeled off a list of what they don't have I.e no roast pork and "coffee machine not working, but we can do instant", I'd have preferred to cook at home.

    Hello, the pub was quiet. Food was ok but service was incredibly slow for all courses, we were there over 2.5 hours just for mains and desserts. Coffees for 8 people all came out one at a time with a wait in between. We asked for some extra gravy with our roast dinners and were very surprised to see we’d been charged £6 for it. Never experienced being charged for extra gravy anywhere before. Also very happy to pay a tip but 12.5% added to the bill we felt was a bit much.
