   Friends and I had a really lovely evening meal, in a lovely setting - both inside and out. Great food and good value for money. Waiting staff seemed to be new and were training but, whilst not perfect (we had to ask to order additional drinks), the service was polite and friendly. I hope more people start visiting as the only thing missing was a livelier atmosphere.

   Came here to enjoy a date night with my fiancé. Service was brilliant, food was lovely and cocktails were brilliant value at half price on a Friday! Will suggest for the next office team night out

   A lovely meal, although my nieces meal wasn't what she chose from the childrens menu! The waitress could do with some more training as didn't really know what drinks were available and what meals were what when serving the food. It was very quiet which was a shame as I'm sure it could be really good place to go when visiting students at the university

   Beautiful location although difficult to locate, not well sign posted on the campus of the university. Interior very modern but maybe a bit sterile? Service excellent, from very chatty manager to staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Food OK but not an inspiring menu. Cuisine did not match style of the interior and expensive, but tasty and well presented. Drinks also expensive, bottled beer around £5 a bottle and no draft beers or ales.

   This was my 3rd visit in 10 days. We had high expectations from the previous visits and whilst we had a lovely evening, we felt a bit neglected despite there only being 2 other customers in the restaurant alongside the 4 of us.

   We booked for lunch and were very pleased with the interesting and tasty food. The service was superb and we really felt we were looked after without being crowded. The layout is effective and spacious and the restaurant is clean and neat. There are wonderful views of the river which were very appealing, even on a dull day. We also liked the airlock style entrance, which will mean no draughts for diners in the winter and also ensured that we could eat undisturbed by smoke from outside, which can be a problem near doorways elsewhere.

   Exceeded my expectations, varied and inspired menu without being overwhelming, would suit foodies and the more conventional. Exceptional gin choice and excellent wine. Ideal location, close to town but more attractive location. Will return.

   Undercooked chips. Burger had no salad apart from a gherkin. The starter of “aged balsamic vinegar” tasted nothing but of water which was dissapointing. My salmon on green beans was all buttery Overall dissapointed and pricy for what it is.

   We ordered four meals, three of which were fantastic. I ordered the sausage with bubble and squeak, steamed seasonal greens and onion gravy. On receiving my food the sausages were placed on a bed of mash and carrots and no side of seasonal greens. I raised the question with the waiting staff as to where my vegetables where she promptly asked the chef who responded, my veg were in my mash. As the veg are also offered as an extra side dish I could not understand how the few pieces of carrot in my mash would equate to a side of veg. I felt the waitress agreed with me. Sausages were very nice. From my experience bubble and squeak is normally a mixture of cabbage, mash, Brussels with other veg mixed in and then lightly fried off. Here the bubble and squeak appeared to be just mashed with a few pieces of carrot stirred in and served. Not what I was expecting. Overall though an enjoyable pleasant evening. Lovely venue and surroundings. Staff were very friendly and approachable.
