   Service was wonderful. Selected Waterman’s because of reviews saying sunset view was one of the best on Galveston, unfortunately at this time of year it was right over a large house so sunset was disappointing. They were out of oysters, gumbo and key lime pie on a Thursday night during spring break which was disappointing. The Ahi tuna appetizer was very good. The outdoor patio was lovely until dusk when the mosquitos came out so heavy we could not enjoy the end of our meal. Overall we would try again, just go earlier in the day and maybe call and ask what they are out of first lol.

   Sadly the food and service was not up to expectations per the dollar amount spent. We have usually had good experiences at Waterman’s but they fell well short this last outing.

   this is our second time we met friends here for dinner, and it was wonderful. we had an excellent time, and our server was perfect in every way. the food is great, especially the seafood. can’t wait to introduce more people to this beautiful quiet spot on the bay.

   First of all, I have always loved Waterman’s and have special memories from there but I haven’t been in about 10 years. I was excited to introduce my grandkids and other family members to Waterman’s. The view is great overlooking the bay with the boats and sunset but we were sat by the kitchen in high back chairs making it nearly impossible to enjoy the view. We had a party of 7 plus 2 high chairs so I figured maybe that was the reason. We then placed an order for appetizers. Calamari, garlic bread and spinach/artichoke dip…sorry, out of calamari. Next, we placed an order for entrees- sorry, out of coconut shrimp…sorry, out of lobster ravioli. I’ve never been to a restaurant that was so poorly prepared for a holiday, especially Spring Break. We had to ask for salt and pepper and more tartar sauce and cocktail sauce (we were given 2 small plastic cups for the entire table) and our waitress seemed overwhelmed (maybe she was new). All in all, it was a night of reliving memories of times gone by. The food was pre-packaged/frozen type food but presented ok. The big thing is how my jaw dropped when we received the bill. (It was more expensive than Gaido’s! And we had 1 less adult that evening!) I would say maybe go and have drinks and watch the sunset but there are plenty of other places for a meal.
