   WE HAVE EATEN THE CARVERY ON SUNDAYS MANY TIMES, AND HAVE ENJOYED OUR MEAL VERY MUCH, GOOD AMBIENCE AND FAIRLY GOOD FOOD. A GOOD CHOICE OF STARTERS AND DESERTS. THIS WEEK WAS TRULY DREADFUL. POOR FOOD AND DREADFUL NOISE. WHO HAD THE IDEA OF SERVING ONLY IN THE PUB WITH ALL THE SCREENS AND NOISE? WE WILL NOT BE EATING THERE AGAIN, UNTIL YOU LET US KNOW THAT YOU HAVE RETUNED TO THE PREVIOUS VENUE. JOHN AND NORMA SIMMONDS

   Food was ok. menu choices was poor. restaurant was loud. football was on - not everyone enjoys football. so maybe more of a designated area for sport would be better? food was overpriced for the quality. service was ok.

   Visited Sunday evening having booked into the hotel. Restaurant closed and told to use the Grill. At 7.30 pm there were 3 large screens showing football silently but with loud music playing. No chance of a quite meal talking to friends. Purchased drinks whilst talking to manager. Bar member was clearly completely untrained to use the till system. Manager did resolve noise problem by setting a table in the lobby area. Manager was very attentive and we were satisfied with the service provided. Walking into the lobby to check in at 4.30pm was the worst check-in experience I've ever had. Noise from televisions was so great I considered leaving immediately. A staff member came over and helped with check-in by shouting over the noise. Suggest you shut off the noisy bar from the lobby or loose customers.

   Stayed on half board basis with friends. Breakfast was excellent with great service. Food was good quality served hot and plentiful. Evening menu was limited we tried all meals and would recommend you stick to this menu as the bar food we tried was disappointing,the curry had four small pieces of meat and was watery. The fish and chips was excellent and could not have been improved upon. The bar area is very busy with football on all 6 tvs the staff kindly offered to serve us in the reception area which was fine.

   The restaurant was fairly busy with some groups. The staff worked hard and dealt well with some difficult customers who were complaining over something and nothing in a very rude tone and manner. This was unnecessary but the staff were apologetic and tried to resolve this in a calm and professional manner nonetheless. This did not impact our evening and the prepaid meal was outstanding. Overall a lovely evening with delicious food and attentive staff.

   We booked under a deal which included two course and a glass of prosecco each. This was really good value and generally the food was good. However, the service was very poor. Initially they refused to give us the prosecco even though I had my booking confirmation on my phone which showed it included prosecco. They were very rude and unhelpful and I ended up having to leave my table to go to the reception for help. The reception staff were great and sorted the problem straight away. Even on my return when we were served the prosecco the staff were still very rude and did not apologise for the mistake.
