Disappointed with the new layout of the communal areas. It was much better when it was a seperate bar and restaurant. We went for a relaxing family birthday meal (our 2 course meal was included in our room rate) and found it to be anything but relaxing. No designated eating areas therefore we were surrounded by drunk, rowdy people knocking our chairs whilst we were trying to eat our food and generally being disruptive. Tables are too close together. The new work space where the bar used to be is a waste of space at the weekend. I think the hotel would benefit from creating a section for people who are having meals and a section for drinks only. There's nowhere else to sit in the hotel for guests. Couldn't fault our meals or the service however will not be returning for food at the hotel, we will just dine elsewhere if we ever stay again.

Food was nice but a bit pricy. Sunday’s are my preferred time to go with the Sunday lunch offers.

I enjoyed my stay this week, I was travelling alone through work and the staff made me feel very welcome. The service was very prompt and the food lovely. I liked the atmosphere in the eating area although it may not be to everyone’s taste, it was bright and busy with people having meals.

We decided not to dine there as it was full of kids shouting & running around, we likened it to a blackpool bar on a Saturday afternoon.

Upon checking into the hotel I went to the restaurant to check my table booking I completed online. They had no record of this but could still book us in. I would have been disappointed if I hadn’t checked and went to restaurant and couldn’t be fitted in. Other than that great service

Already did a review on facebook, buuut this hotel deserves more reviews on all platforms for the service me and my partner received whilst staying at the hotel in Newcastle!🤭 Lovely staff on arrival, very smiley and welcoming!👏🏻 Women in grey suit was most informative and guided me checking in on the self check in machines, She was very sweet and we had some lovely chats! 🧚🏻‍♂️ Whilst staying I had already phoned in advance about my fella’s 23rd birthday meal and they went out of there way to make it extra special for his birthday, the staff we’re catering and lovely! He received a loveellly chocolate cake with free Prosecco for us both, FOR FREE!...Now that’s how you treat your guests!👏🏻🥰🌈 Thank you for our meals, nothing to fault at all..well done to chef that served us on 26th Jan!💛🧡💚 We hope to re visit in the future!🚗

1st time eating in a few years.. Food wash very nice. Service was excellent bistro bar manager is a natural u dident feel like he was doing it because it was his job.. The way he spoke to you made u feel specia like u were the only one he needed to worry about. but he treat everyone like this such a special quality to have. He made everyone welcome it was so nice. The food I couldent fault was Sunday lunch. Loved the chefs counter. Atmosphere was lovely people relaxing.. We can't wait to visit again will be recommended to all family and friends.

The food was generally good but we much preferred the old system of the carvery. With then new arrangement where your food is delivered on a plate it means I had some things that I wouldn't have chosen and some, for example the cabbage, which I was served far too much of. It looked like it was done this way to fill up the plate. We would only go back for Sunday lunch if had a similar offer of buy one get one free, I don't think the individual price is very good value for money now, whereas it used to be with the carvery.

I enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Village which was good value as I had a bogof. Don’t think and I’d have been so happy if I’d paid full price of £15 each The food was nice and I loved the selection of appetisers , very nice ! lunch was hot and tasty , I prefer to have the food served rather than carvery so that was good. Nicely cooked veg and good rice Yorkshire pud Only criticism is that the meat was cut very thin and I like a thick slice of meat I’d return when offers are available

To be honest, we were somewhat disappointed in our visit / meal and it was no where near as good as the carvery style sunday menu we thought we were going to get. There was not much choice at all for starters or desserts on the 'help yourself ' part and there was a shortage of desserts, only 2 to choose from - a plain cheesecake and yogurt pot type desert. Also, no spoons available for the soup or deserts. The Sunday lunch itself was quite standard, nothing special. I enjoyed the beef but my husband wasnt impressed with the processed turkey he got. Staff were pleasant enough but we cleared our table of both starters and mains ourself as no one seemed to want to take our used plates away do we ended up putting them onto another table or on the bar! Only positive was that I had purchased a voucher so instead of £50, we spent just over £25. I most certainly wouldn't pay full price for what we got and wont rush back for sunday lunch. Very disappointed as our kids loved it last time with the choice and especially the ice cream machine but this has all been changed and not for the best.
