I don’t usually write reviews, but this place truly deserves one. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our host, who promptly seated us and gave a helpful overview of the menu and what to expect. As non-alcoholic drinkers, my friend and I appreciated the thoughtful range of alternative drink options that were offered without hesitation. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavourful, and served in generous portions. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, with spotless facilities and just the right balance of background noise—lively but not overwhelming. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality dining experience.

Always used to visit here years ago. But due to moving out of the area visiting has become less regular. So it was a nice surprise to still see some original staff from years ago! To food was nice the ribs nice and the duck salad a refreshing change with fresh salad and not wilting as is the norm these days. The lamb was tender and flavour some and the steak also was cooked just right. The menu is not overcrowded and so makes it manageable. Will definitely visit again when back in town.

The whole experience was lovely. The wife and I visited Saturday 15th at 8pm, the waiter, I didn't catch his name but he was really good, very nice man! The food was absolutely amazing! I was still full the next morning! 🤣 The decor and ambient lighting is lovely, very nice place. Perfect for my wifes birthday treat meal!

The place was lovely and so were the staff. We both ordered steak. The plate contained steak, very overdone chips (even tasted like they had been refried a few times over) and 4 cherry tomatoes…. No veg. We ordered different sauces to go with the steak, when they came both looked the same colour, both had zero taste. I was going to speak with the lady who served us but nothing was asked if we enjoyed the meal. Tried the place but we wouldn’t go back. Over priced for the quality of food that was served!

Was excited once I made my Valentines evening meal destination decision to be here but it left me very disappointed…. The place was well decorated and had a very cozy warm feeling to it but the customer service was not up to scratch. We felt like we had to explain our meal options to our server who even had a notepad to jot down and we even pointed out what we had chosen. Our starters arrived in good time and together part of the filling inside a duck spring roll was cold, but the rest was satisfactory however our next course was not. My partner had chose the Beef Bourgignon and I had chose the Lamb Rump and we decided on a side of triple cooked chips but of course it wasn’t that simple. My partners food arrived with a wrong main which obviously wasn’t the lamb rump so I had to sit and wait an extra 10 minutes the server had informed me it would be 15 minutes so to be fair 10 minutes was good time. It was an average meal nothing to scream about the lamb was cooked perfectly yet the accompaniments just lacked depth of flavour, the dauphinoise was bland, the ‘minted’ pees were barely minted and the red white sauce was just lacking in all aspects. Furthermore the ‘triple cooked chips’ did not infact arrive until we were both finished and they were simply on par with oven chips. Small portion, no deep colour you expect from triple cooked chips and bland, VERY bland. For a whopping £4? Once the chips came our server did not return to the table, ask for the feedback on the meal or the satisfactory of the customers under his due care. Our table got cleared at different times by a variety of servers but we were not offered the option of another drink, a dessert menu or the bill. For the price in which we paid considering when pricing a menu you take into account, the costing of the food, the labour and the customer service felt dissatisfied with the customer service.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad you appreciated the decor and atmosphere, but we're truly sorry to hear your experience didn't meet expectations. It’s disappointing to learn about the issues with the service and the quality of the food, particularly the triple-cooked chips and the main course. We take all feedback seriously and will address your comments with our team to ensure a better experience in the future. We value your input and hope you might reconsider visiting again.
