Vespaio Restaurant is one of the original South Congress eateries and remains one of Austin's favorite Italian go-to's among locals and visitors. This casual dinner venue is a popular choice for date nights or evenings out with friends, seating every day at 5pm. The interior of Vespaio Restaurant is decorated with ceiling tiles, ceiling plans, vintage pendant lighting, classic table seating, a plethora of wine racks and vibrant accent walls.In addition to a full bar menu, Vespaio Restaurant offers a lengthy selection of mouth-watering and flavorful authentic Italian dishes.     Excellent service. Staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu & wine list. The food was all freshly made including the pasta. I loved that they had smaller serving options so we could taste & share. It was my birthday and they made it very special with several surprises! Highly recommend this long standing restaurant.

    We hadnt been back in years. We wanted to be wowed, but werent. The atmosphere is lovely, as we sat in the small room looking over the main dining room. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was confusing. Waiter was nice, but after ordering cocktails first, they never came. After 15 min waiter was surpised we hadnt gotten our cocktails. He went to check on them and it was still another 10 min until we got them. That lengthof wait,20+ min., was unacceptable. We were indecisive about ordering, and decided to share Caesar salad. A restaurant of that caliber should have served it split. Ciopini and Vongele were good, but not as good as Italy. Then we paid with 2 gift cards. Waiter seemed confused. We ended up leaving with not knowing how much our bill was and no receipt. Loved the atmosphere and hubs loved his martini. Tiramisu and bread w/spread were delicious with a lot of flavor.

    Absolutely outstanding from the moment we sat down. Server / sommelier Tom was excellent. Very knowledgeable about both the food and wine (obviously).If you haven’t yet had lamb tartare, ORDER IT! The house made burrata was divine. Papparedelle w bolognese was incredible! Highly highly recommend!!!

    Never disappoints! Our favorite go to restaurant when we're in Austin. We celebrated our Anniversary there this year and everyone, from the Host to the Waiters made it special. We started with a complimentary glass of Prosecco, a delicious appetizer and meal. Ending with a not too sweet creamy cherry cheesecake for a perfect ending to our evening.

    Really nice meal. Service was great. Being in the middle of SoCo makes this easy for people visiting Austin to get a taste of one of the long lasting Austin restaurants and do some shopping/people watching. Never disappoints.
