About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Fancy
  • Good for business meals
Vernick Fish presents Philadelphia’s own, Chef Greg Vernick’s exploration beyond the boundaries of a seafood restaurant. His ingredient-driven cooking style, paired with a love for global flavors, results in an inventive menu of fish and shellfish dishes, and a range of vegetable preparations. Taking a detailed, seasonal, and sustainable approach with small and large plate offerings, the kitchen brings new life to the favorite hallmarks of American oyster bar fare and raw bar. Complementing the experience are well-crafted cocktails, and a focused wine list of seafood-friendly white and sparkling offerings, as well as light, fresh reds.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Greg Vernick and CDC David Paterniti

From the OpenTable editors: Sleek interiors meet thoughtful service at this celebratory Logan Square seafood spot. James Beard Award-winning chef Greg Vernick walks the line between innovative and nostalgic with dishes like sardines on sourdough toast and grilled scallops that are masterclasses in careful sourcing and precise preparation, but also wipe-your-plate-clean delicious. If you’re toasting to something special, get one of the hard-to-find spirits or wines from the top-notch drinks program.

The service was the worst I‘be ever had there. The waiter was doing us a favor by serving us. Simply rood. This is a high end establishment and it was a horrible experience. I have been there before but will not return. The food was cold, and far from good.

Delicious and creative dishes from start to finish ~ yellowtail crudo, ricotta cavatelli, olive oil-poached halibut (AMAZING) and grilled Black Sea bass followed by a scoop of caramelized banana ice cram and chocolate sorbet (AMAZING). Service, ambiance, timing of the courses, and especially the food are reasons we keep going back!

We walked in and had the option of a nice suede lounge sofa, a high top, or regular dining table. We chose the couch and everything was perfect. Oysters 9/10, octopus 9/10 and Branzino was phenomenal. Great service, low lights, great menu. WOW!

The seabass was over cooked and burned, it was dry and actually tasted bitter because of the burned coat. The waitress/busser removed our dishes before checking if we finished, showed attitude that they want us to leave because it's late even though they sat us in later than our reservation time. Even when we said thanks before leaving, the girl purposely not respond back. For a $500 dinner bill that we were willing to pay, that service was very disappointing and unacceptable.
