   The portions are ample and food is freshly.made. the 4 course dinner for 29 before 7pm is a good deal. My second visit both times excellent.

   Best authentic hand made Turkish in the city..coming here for years,,outstanding.. Small and intimate.

   I love the waitress Ida and her friendliness is welcoming. There are so many choices that I find it hard to give my order. My friends and I think Uskudar is one of the best values in dining in the city plus the special 12 noon - 4 pm menu is good all 7 days of the week. I can tell that my meals have just been prepared for me. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Any age group will find choices to their liking. Don't hesitate as you will not be disappointed.

   Excellent Turkish food in a friendly neighborhood restaurant. We both had Adana for the main course (1 lamb, 1 chicken) and were very happy with them. The rice that accompanied it was especially tasty. The eggplant spread (similar to baba ganoush) was also excellent and large enough to share Very reasonably priced Only negative was the cold air that came in each time the door opened (small restaurant, no real vestibule, and heavy velvet curtain wasn’t really adequate on cold windy night)

   First time I've had to say something negative about this restaurant. The server was terrible. First, she forgot the wine and when we reminded her the response was, "Oh, yeah." Never came back to the table to see how things were. We had to flag somebody else to get a water refill. But here's the best (worst) part. When she poured the wine, she missed one glass leaving a puddle of wine on the table and all over the glass... and never bothered to clean it up... just walked away and left us there to clean it up ourselves. We really enjoy this place, but if we go back we will make sure not to have this server again.

   When I made the reservation, I specified this was a SPECIAL OCCASION, my husband's birthday. On arriving at the restaurant, I mentioned to the server that we were celebrating my husband's birthday. I toasted his birthday with a glass of wine. Yet the restaurant failed to recognize the birthday in any way. [I thought maybe they'd bring him a piece of cake with a candle, as other restaurants we've been to generally do, something to set the meal apart from an ordinary meal on a frigid day.] Not having received the usual email inviting me to do a review following the dinner, I can no longer remember precisely what we ordered, but I know we enjoyed the food very much. My recollection is that an eggplant hors-d'oevre (Turkish eggplant dishes never fail to please!) exceeded expectations and that my husband's charbroiled fish was very much to his liking, which can be a tall order. Now more is coming back: I ordered lamb kebab, delicious and especially appreciated because I no longer eat red meat except on special occasions. Celebrating the birthday of a wonderful man whose company I've enjoyed for more than 50 years was very special for me; I wish his special day had been even more special for him. He mentioned his birthday again as we were leaving, after having tried to help the owner get a heat lamp to work at the front of the restaurant. A cold night, it was. The owner apologized for not having done anything special for my husband. The question I have is this: Why should someone making a reservation indicate that it's a special occasion if that doesn't mean anything to the restaurant? .

   Was constantly being asked if we were ready to order/leave. The staff clearly wanted to go home (which I respect), but the manner with which they went about it had a lot to be desired. I felt rushed the entire meal, and if they were not ok with serving ppl at that hour than they should not accept reservations that late in my opinion

   The food was extremely underwhelming for a pretty penny. We were hoping for a low key neighborhood dinner. We were highly disappointed in the food.

    My wife and I had dinner there on a Sunday night and we were underwhelmed with the experience. Food was just OK, veggies on the side were tepid, service was a bit slow despite it not being busy. Disappointed.
