UEC used to be one of my local go to spots for a a casual bite. But not any more. Prices have recently increased to the “it’s not worth it” range. $31 for a piece of farm raised Salomon and $28 chicken parm is overpriced for this cafe. Recent visit the cafe was very loud with a rowdy party table near the bar. This combined with the over priced dishes has sent me in search of a new local spot.

If you have any kind of back problem at all do not go to this restaurant. The seats are so very uncomfortable we had to leave and have the food delivered rather than dine there. The food was OK but not enough to go back.

We were there on Christmas Day & although it was very busy, the food & service were great. We weren't expecting to be offered a second cup of coffee because of the many people waiting, but we were!

UEC is consistent in food, service and atmosphere. A step above a diner this neighborhood spot has a menu with something for everyone. Avacado toast is a family favorite, and I like the salmon. Not a fan of the omelette here, but there other things to order. UEC is where you go when you don’t know where to go.
