   We had breakfast at UMI by Vikram Garg twice during our trip to Honolulu and loved everything about it. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Mai Tai pancakes were a unique and delicious treat, and the Shakshuka was excellent—perfectly spiced and hearty. What made the experience even more special was the warm hospitality. The owner’s wife and daughter served us both times, and they were genuinely kind and welcoming. We’re already looking forward to returning and trying their dinner next time!

   Food and service were.beyond words. Server was patient and understanding in helping us understanding the menu and made great suggestions. The price rib eye was mouthwatering and flavorful. The salmon was the best I have ever had. Wonderful dining experience.

The service was absolutely amazing—attentive without being overbearing, and every detail was handled with care. We opted for the prix fixe menus, and every course was out of this world. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The sommelier was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and perfectly matched our wine that elevated our entire meal.    The dinner was on the level of Michelin rated restaurants I have been to. The quality of Ingredients, the balance of flavor and the creative boldness was outstanding and very refreshing. The mixture of French, Japanese and Indian cuisine are very harmoniously executed with never seen before dishes. I was equally impressed with the level of service and their attentiveness and professional friendly service. I think the dinner service was an absolute bargain for the quality of food being served. This is one of the culinary gems in Honolulu and extremely underrated restaurants I have been to in this area as you normally only see this level of restaurants in New York, Los Angeles or Napa Valley. Hats off the chef and his talented team.

   What an unexpected surprise we found at UMI. Fresh off the plane in Honolulu checked for reservations found this as a option and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all. I would highly recommend this to anybody who’s looking for a light and very tasting menu. That gives you the option of an à la cart as well. We would highly recommend and look forward to going again.

   Very high quality food, with an unique presentation and preparation. It was all good, till the man showed up, and I felt my bill went up a hundred dollars more. He started showing us bottles of whiskey, and started giving us samples and we were laughing and joking but not realizing that he was padding the ultimate bill, which was close to a 1000 dollars for 4 people. I bet my dad is turning in his grave. I never want to meet an owner or manger of a restaurant ever again in life. I feel used.

    This was our 2nd visit, and like the first, this restaurant and this time surpassed expectations. The food was delicious and crafted with such care and artistry. The adults in our family selected the wine pairing, and I found the sommelierʻs taste for each dish was spot on! My taste buds enjoyed the exquisite flavors paired with the wine selections. The great thing I love about Umiʻs is the sense of family and the fact that it is actually a family affair. They were very attentive and took the time to get to know their customers, including Abby, who greeted us with such affection, the chef, server, and sommelier. Lee (Leigh?) was humorous and knowledgeable about the wines. He was always checking to make sure we were okay. I highly recommend Umi to anyone looking for excellent food, fine wines, and a dining experience that is enjoyable and feels elegant, giving me a sense of tranquility. In the end, I felt pampered and special - especially since I was celebrating my birthday!
